on the 6th to last turn i think it is (the big one right after the long strait-away) how do u make that line when u are drifting
i've tried it with the HKS S15 the AE86(regular and Initial D black hood version) the Sileigty and my Supra RZ
I CANT GET IT RIGHT
ITS PISSING ME OFF
so please someone at least tell me how fast i need to go

ya i've been tryin for the past 2 weeks
i just always either go too fast or too slow
cus u know how it starts out as a wide turn and gets tight at the end? i just cant seem to find out how to do it
like do u think i should come into it fast downshifting to like 4th then when it gets tight slow down downshifting to 2nd? i think thats the only thing i havnt tried yet

What's the problem you're having? Is your drift not lasting enough to get through the turn? I mean, i can't really tell you a set speed to drift that corner... you'll get the hang of the speed on the corner if you keep at it.

its not that i dont go through the whole turn i can drift the whole thing- the whole entire course except for that straitaway- the problem is just that turn. when it becomes tight i just cant get into the turn i end up hitting the wall and the wall helps me drift the rest of the way around

Try controlling your speed with braking during the drift. when it starts looking like you're getting too much speed, try braking before that a little and then mash the throttle again, just be careful not to contersteer too much or your slide is going to end no matter what you do.
GT4's physics are pretty twisted up, because you can't get your rear slide again with power if you start understeering during the drift because of too much opposite lock :(

you should tape a couple attempts with the display view, so we can see your inputs and then we can give you a more accurate anyalsis, but of what your saying , its probaly your speed as FI said

Patience. It took me a while to master that corner, and here is what I do

Ok, you know that u-turn sign that is suspended over the right side of the road? Right when the last u turn sign passes the top of your screen, start braking, initiate a feint to further shift the wieght of the vehicle, and then countersteer accordingly. Of course, if you are using more grippy tires, you should start braking a little bit later; i tried implementing that technique when I made the transision from N2 tires to SH tires, and I ended up coming in too close to the inside (and hitting the wall). If u need anything else, I have a full lap replay of SS AE86 drifting at Trial Mountain, check it out in my videos (theres a link to my thread in my sig). Have fun; dont forget to have fun!

I usually try to slow down to around 80ish right before the turn, from the outside do a quick feint left then right then left and aim for the apex, then try to carry through to the outside using any adjustments if necessary.

Whichever car you used isn't really a problem.

It's the turn after the straight. You need to slow down enough then tackle the corner. The drift technique needed should not be an issue.

Either way, practice with that corner and with your techniques.

recording it with a video capture card would be ideal, but even a camcorder would suffice if you darken the room and keep the camera still. using a USB drive and ARMax software is only going to allow others in the same region with the ARMAx to view your replay.

I feint heavily into this turn. I vere right just as I crest the hill and throw it back to the left bringing the car into the turn close to a 75* or 90* with the straight. I stay off the throttle at this point to let the car slide straight and to help scrub speed [I may however stab the brake now and then to correct my rotation]. As the turn starts to open up I get on the gas and try to maintain about a 30* angle through the turn, and reduce it progressively towards the exit to avoid the snapback.
it takes some practice and you gotta have a comfortable setup that actually drifts - not just slides.

watch your speed when you go too fast, then try.
if you fail watch your speed when you go too slow, and try a little faster.
take the drift on speeds between the too fast and too slow.

gotta thank u guys for ur help i think im gonna go try this again
with my beloved 22B that is

god i would love to have this car in real life. its practically orgasmic

You gotta braking feint into it and gas your way out of it. I got this turn down pat. I get it every time almost perfect, it's one of my fav's because of the suspension compression the whole way through and the shape of the apex.

Anyways, you just gotta find your braking point by the signs. In my high powered cars I get on the brakes right at the crest of the hill and just feather the brakes as needed to get to the right speed. I turn it sideways with a fient as soon as I get on the brakes. I kinda go slightly left, then right, then hard left as I enter the turn comming in wide, then gas it and use the banking to shoot the car to the apex and out of the turn into the striaght away aiming me at the next turn sideways, it's quite fun.

It sounds to me that you just cant recover in time. Try to get a different angle and make sure you dont keep downshifting cause that will keep you spinning instead of making you exit. Take it with low angle first, try to carry it through the entire turn and do that like 4 times in a row if you can. If you have done that you can carry on with increasing your angle. Succes!👍

ha my technique for this is using the spoon s2k r1 i believe then one that looks like "god of arm" s2k...im an initial d fan...no adjustments stock everything except tires the n2. doesnt matter what speed, i go full throttle then just when the shadow of the trees are about to end i dont know maybe about 2 car lengths let go of gas for a split second do a small feint then turn in and throttle to fast brake and the back end of the car will stick out some more and youll lose some speed, keep countersteering until the end looks really nice on the replays ill see if i can get one up...i dont think this will be much help though everyones style is different

so with that i say practice

GT40 MKII
s2000 r1 isnt that an amuse machine?

that it is
i actually own one but however wierd this sounds it recovers too quickly for me and i always lose it at the end of a drift, no matter how i put the settings, i've tried them all that i found on here and nothing's worked not even my own settings so i mostly use my sileighty, 22B, and supra RZ

Haha lol, creative Tri:tup: I have never succesfully completed a 360 on any turn yet.
