BMW is own a mission, a mission to bring Triumph back. Last week, the firm announced it's plans to expand the company with other brands. Despite some speculation that they are going to aquire Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo, they have instead added to their profile by reviving the Triumph name. Triumphs first model in two decades will be the TR4, yes the TR4. The original TR4 was taken out of production 1965, but know BMW are bringing it back with their morden interprertation of a TR4. It is expected to lend up being a rival for the Mazda MX-5 and the new Chinesse owned MG TF roadster. No other comments have been made on the Triumph project, but the should be more news on this ambitous project by the end of this year.

I was gonna say as long as they don't do like the mini but looks like it's too late...

Nice to see the Saturn Sky ass copy there. Geez...

I know what you mean about that. I have never seena Saturn Sky in the UK, since they dont sell them here, but I have have driven it on TDU.

I'll give them a chance, it looks good. 👍

Slicks, we may want to wait a few years on passing judgment. Hopefully BMW won't engineer in a susceptibility to rusting.

Looks like Euclid's worst nightmare.

That my friend, is what we call a Speculative Photo-render. Its based on the Pontiac Solstice. 💡

And out of that render, the arse is the only part I don't like. Hopefully the front is close to what it will/would be like and the rear is way off the mark.

As long as they build them well, keep them moderately cheap, and eventually offer-up a model with a BMW-sourced I6, I'll be a very happy man.

...That is, if they even get around to selling them in America...

Interesting.

However, I don't recall the TR4 as looking so bulbous. Why would BMW base the new TR4 off a GM product, when the companies are seperated by an entire ocean? The new design is nice, being chiseled, taut and spare, but it lacks any sensuality or grace that the original TR4 had.

No doubt the new car has a better engine, though.

Well I don't know what to say, its either a bad rendering or really bad concept. But i think we will have to wait for official conformation from BMW. But i do hope they don't turn another wonderful mark into 🤬 like the MINI. It was good but nothing compared to the original. But since they are reviving the mark, i do hope they consider a new Triumph Spitfire :D
