I am trying to create an account but here is what's wrong.
When it asks me for my mailing address, I put in my gmail address correctly. And my gmail password in, then press continue. But it says "not valid" how does it know it is not valid? I am creating an account and a password. Can someone please help quick?!

Pretty sure mailing address means your physical address e.g. your house address or where you get physical mail.

Your e-mail is used for signing in so if you already entered it you don't need to do it again.

I used to always go on PSN when at my brother's place using his account on my user.

But if I buy something then it will be on his account to pay for.

Correct. And it's completely irrelevant. You can put in anything you want.

My brother just called again. Told him some updates. And he told me that I need a number in my password. Wish me luck everybody.

I usually make a habbit of not using email+emailpassword for anything else other than email.

As for the error message... look around it should tell you what field is not valid, and even what is required.

Just my untrusting 2 cents.

You can only use an e-mail address once to create a PSN account so if your e-mail address has already been used to create an account you would get that error.

Edit. Advice no longer needed.

The only problem now is that the PSN won't work. When I sign, it pops up saying "You can not sign in with someone elses ID." I changed the wording from my brother's to mine. I tried this a few times, but still doesn't work. Anymore suggestions? Anybody?

Did you use the same e-mail address?

When I go to the sign-in page, it shows my brother's e-mail. So I change it to mine, and put in my password.

I think you have your brother's PSN account linked to your profile. You need to change your sign-in ID in XMB > PlayStation Network > Account Management > Account Information. You will need your brother's password.

Alternatively, you can create a new profile on your PS3 and link your new account to it.

I have it working. Don't know. I just created a new user and it worked. But what sucks is that I don't know how to transfer my all my saved data from my original user, to my new one.

If you go to the saved data utility, you should be able to copy the save data from one user to another by pressing triangle, some games won't work (we have a thread around here somewhere), so those you'll have to restart or play offline.

No more problems. Any GTplanet staff can close this thread. Whoever closes this thread first, gets a prize.
