T1. 0'13.962 (13.740)
T2. 0'30.062
T3. 1'00.894

All upgrades equipped in stock settings. Pretty fun drive, just some wheelspin issues. I'll mess with settings tomorrow as I have a massive headache at the moment.

update:
modified transmission for less wheelspin
T1. 0'14.026 (13.8)
T2. 0'29.949
T3. 1'00.437

Looks great, Jake. 👍 And thanks for getting it up early. That'll give time for a good opening session.

Edit:

I can't tune at all, so I hope it'll not make too much of a difference this week.

Drove it with default suspension except for the ride height down to minimum. Autogearing to 8, and with my usual lack of finesse TCS to 1 to avoid the wheelspin. :dopey:

First laps:

13.887
30.027
1'00.629

^^ Sounds like both of you have the right idea on tuning. I defaulted everything, turned off all aids, and adjusted the autoset for the gearbox which was the main reason for using GT mode this week. The arcade mode gearing was unbearable!

I am still trying to find the optimal gear setting though, but right now I am not using 6th... If you haven't already done it, try adjusting the differential to help wheelspin and of course 1 click of TCS smooths it out nicely. I'll post my setup later today.

BOARD updated 👍

EDIT:

SETTINGS: (reached 1'00.3xx 1'00.112 with this so far. 148MPH top speed)

Brake Balance = 3,2

Suspension
- Spring Rate = 11,9
- Ride Height = 120,120
- Bound = 7,7
- Rebound = 6,6
- Camber = 2,2
- Toe Angle = 0,-1
- Stabilizers = 3,3

Gearbox Autoset = 13
- adjustment to 2nd gear = 2.460 (reduces wheelspin at hairpin)

Aids = OFF

Limited Slip = 5,45,10

Captain slow reporting back in from France. This sounds like a fun combo. The track I like for sure anyway. Will surely give it a go tonight or tomorrow.
Well done Jake

I'm back from vacation...I'll give it a go tonight sounds like a fun combo!

Jake, Looks like a fun combo. I'm no tuner but we'll give 'er a go for sure. :dunce:

Just got my phone line back after that darn Birch tree took out everything Fri. eve.

Thanks to 01GTP for getting my time to you so I didn't get DQ'd!👍 I owe you one Kenny!!

Feel free to start with my settings in Post #5 if you have no idea what to use. I'm not the best tuner either but I found that this setup really worked with my driving style. Corner turn in is more precise and wheel-spin is minimized. Hope it helps.

Been away so haven't gotten to tune at all, but I did switch gearing to Jake's to see if it did better and improved .650. I was thinking more of using 6th gear and fixed 2nd gear, but since I only use 6th gear at one point I can see it doesn't matter much.

Although I think I'll always just be gimped at that slow corner with the controller losing a few tenths.

took a break from fishing.....looks like rain in any event.:grumpy: Ran about 2 dozen laps.

14.248
30.697
101.572

Jake thanks for the set-up:tup: although I don't think it will make a difference for me this week. If I get a chance I'll tinker with it and see if I can get something that works a little better for me.:dunce:

^^ Board updated with your time Ron. Glad to see you back here.

Once I get a decent setup I run it for a few sessions. It allows me to really think about the dynamics of the vehicle and usually I can isolate the 1 or 2 settings that could really make the difference in lap time.

I try not to fiddle too much as I end up losing time instead of gaining. :dopey:

14.099
30.187
1:01.032

Ran a number of laps - first with default settings (except no aids other than TCS at 1) and then with a guess at what might work (essentially lowered to max in front and 10mm higher in rear, stiffened rear springs 10%, softened dampers to 6, more front camber and stiffer rear bar).

My feeling is that the truck need to rotate more which is the reason for the suspension settings.

I did try an experiment and took TCS to 0 - it was much quicker through T2 (by as much as 0.400) but very difficult to control wheelspin in the hairpin and the exit of the chicane and finished slower. But at least in my mind it proves that being able to get the tail out a little is much quicker. My last two laps I ran with TCS at 1 and removed the LSD - this seemed to be an improvement.

Tonight I plan to run my setup back to back with Jakes and see if that tells me anything.

was messing with a lot of the settings and had
13.765
29.795 (seen 29.660 with same setup)
1'00.097

I lowered the 2nd gear even further than Jake's and now it is very easy to control that slow hairpin, I think 2.446 2nd gear. Although I messed with my brake settings and it got terrible. Still have to work on brakes/LSD then I'll try it again. I'll post settings when I get done, mostly different from Jake's except Transmission.

Updated board! I think the best thing I did for tuning, besides the gearbox, was setting the Toe to -1 in the rear. I really felt a difference in the rotation (turn in) of the truck.

I haven't had time to refine the posted setup but hope to get back on this shortly. Work is getting in the way this week. :yuck:

Yea I changed the Toe as well

Spring Rate 10 12
Ride Height 112 130
Shock(Bound) 6 6
Shock(Rebound) 8 8
Camber Angle 2 1
Toe Angle 0 -1
Stabilizers 3 3

Was my Suspension, I was just trying to get the very ending so that I could go all out speed without messing with T1/T2/T3 that much so the splits that are posted won't change much. Although I'm not sure that's possible on the ending, but .1-.3 would still be nice.

First splits

I squeezed in a session before therapy this morning.

01GTP.........14.034 / 30.222 / 1'01.046

Board updated with Marooned, 01GTP and gtbadboy. 👍

I'm looking forward to LAN this weekend Kenny... What's the schedule?

Improved T3

14.116
30.192
1:00.746

If I could just figure out those first two turns I'd be in decent shape - no matter what line I take I can't get T1 under 14 seconds (well, I can, but that's by sacrificing the next corner entry).

Took rear spring up to 12, softened front dampers to 5, rear camber to 0 (both to loosen up the rear as well as help traction out of corners), LSD 5/40/5 (minimum decel to help the rear rotate) and brakes at 2/5 (the front seemed to wash out on braking and this helps hold the line).

I didn't find this race as fun as the first one. The track is cool, but this truck didn't suit me. Anyway, I ran a session, first with the default settings, then with Jake's suspension, and I made some changes.

Here's my setup (not that it's advisable for anyone to try :scared: :sly: ):

LSD: 5/20/5
Brakes: 1/6
Aids: 0/0/0
Transmission: Tranny trick, auto 1, final 3.800
Suspension:
12.0/9.0
110/120
5/6
7/8
2.0/0.5
0/-1
3/3

And my splits:
0'13.872
0'29.786
1'00.223

Lost 0.1 at each of the first 3 sectors, the final sector was good. Submitting...

Updated with 2078 and CMir. Great times by all. 👍

edit: added raz_10

First try...with all add ons' and SR suspension

14.116
30.328

Can't seem to do the ending that good anymore so I'm submitting. It's funny that I learned more about tuning in this one race than in 50 weeks of GTmode WRS. But I guess I can see that you gotta know all the tracks to get some good tests in and adjust.

10 laps brought me some lousy splits:
14.419
30.060
1'02.256
My trick to try & improve the tyre-to-tarmac feel is to give it a 1 kg ballast set to -50% balance.
Lap submitted.

Second session:

Borrowed Jakes toe, lsd and tranny settings. Thanks for sharing.

13.846
29.869
1'00.462

No movement at the leaderboard, but I cleaned up my finish with half a second. :dopey:

Thanks guys, Board Updated. This weeks results will be delayed until Monday due to the LAN weekend here with Kenny, Kevin, Chuk, and George. I will have Race 3 up soon though. 👍

Race 3 is up! I should have results for race 2 tonight so I want to remind all racers to submit their times. 👍
