Not asking for tunes but rather what parts on the suspension effects the car in drag. Like what is toe, camber, ridehieght, rollbar, spring rate, etc.

Can anyone put each one into definition and how it effects the car in drag tune.

I want to put together the puzzle.

I'm too tired right now, I'll post some stuff tomorrow (late night your time shifty)

It would be rather beneficial to the GT drag community to have the top tuners chime in on this.
And I think all parts of the suspension affect drag... now how they affect it is the question.

The point is to get the power to the drive wheels. 👍

Drag Racing:

20% Suspension
80% Transmission

Bottom line, and I've tried this before, if you have a good transmission setup, you WILL be fast. Even if your entire suspension is at default, you will still be competitive. So some tips on transmission tuning (For 1/4):

  • Sometimes you will need to launch from 2nd, not always first.
  • You don't always need to flip the tranny.
  • It is possible to flip the tranny a little at a time until you reach your *sweet spot*.
  • You want the longest launch gear possible. Some cars will drop 5000 RPMs when they launch yet still launch quickly while others NEED to have their RPMs kept high.

Merry Christmas. I just saved you over 2 months of tuning :)

This, THIS is what I have needed! I've been spending so much time focusing on my suspension and very little time on my tranny and have been getting no where fast, literally. lol  Thanks for the clarification.

Ill have to stop you there DLR because i think it's 50/50 there both just as important, if you need to tune for short distance and don't tune your suspension you will just bounce off rev limiter and not get anywhere lol so in my eyes there both very important

I agree with this. I've got a lot of good transmission tunes however my suspension holds me back.

This explains why 1st gear is not the popular gear for me when trying to tune 1/4

At SSR7, suspension comes into play a lot more as you can grab up to 10 extra mph coming out of the tunnel just by fiddling with the ride height. But at Indy, all you really need to do is slam the front down and rack up the rear. After that, it's all fine tuning...

I'l like to race you later on with my suspension at default :)

This is amazing slump. I see why you couldnt start it yesterday. : sticky:

I put together some experiments and I see a little difference in my cars.

I really do think the suspension helps the transmission in a way. They work good together.
Thanks!
But that's just the lite version. There is much more to say.
Just wait till I update it (this weekend)!

Glad I could help you! :)

Wow, lol, I just thougt about ptk post and your response and strung it together.

Funny.

It didn't help because I already know it. And actually half of it is incorrect, the indy part. However, I don't expect you to know all about indy because you tune for tunnel just like I don't know it all about tunnel because I am an indy tuner. Despite that, when I go to the tunnel and create cars from experience, because I don't know it all about the tunnel, and I win, well that means that your doing something wrong.

Cool story bro! And now you could go a step forward and tell us what's so completely wrong. :)

No. I don't like the way that was stated. Beside the fact that I have learned all of this since the game came out and I believe that you all should spend the same amount of time as I did to learn it all.
