Hey everyone,

I'm trying to understand the ghosting system to learn if I am at fault and need to change what I'm doing or if it's unavoidable on my part as I'm a rank beginner and have no idea if I'm taking the wrong the line/bad breaking or what not, obviously I'm not trying to ram or take people out deliberately (which seems like a it's own small niche in the D leagues!!!)

Is the system as simple as if I am the ghost then I am at fault and if the other person is the ghost then they are in the wrong. This will make is easier for me to work out where I'm doing the wrong thing.

Also if I have bumped you in any of the races, sorry - I'm just useless :)

There will maybe follow some more useful answers here, but: Why not race as if there where no ghosting (which will happen is you rank up).

And about who's wrong - GT isn't exactly good at know or hence the penalties wouldn't be handed out so wrong all the time.

Hey man, welcome here and I hope your enjoying GT7, the ghosting system has various levels of intenstiy dependant on the races. Sometimes in Gr.4 or Gr.3 races the ghsoting is set quite high as incidents tend to happen and we all don't want to be bottlenecked on Turn 1 and it there to support or allow good racing. Well thats the theory but not always the case :D.

My advice is treat ghosting as a way to avoid other slower racers or crashed/bumped incident racers. The system can work well sometimes and not so well other times. But it is there to reduce the congestinon in a race. Try to avoid ghosted cars as if they are real physical cars in the race and use your instincts to not get caught out.

Also remember, if there is a slower car in a race that is being lapped, the game will auto-ghost that car when there is a blue flag active allowing the faster higher grid car to overtake or pass.

Buming people will happen early on once you find your driving line, just try to refine your racing best you can. Keep trying and hopefully we see you out of the D leagues hehe and in a much better place in-game.
