Im going to have a bash at this Endurance Race soon and was wondering how other GTPlanet members on here have attacked this race.

1, Did you choose an over powered car to gain loads of laps?
2, Did you choose a similar car to the rest of the field for close racing?
3, Did you break the race up pausing for long/short periods?

If you want to get it for sure on your first try take an overpowered car, if you want to have a real challenge and have fun take a challenging car so you will always think about your pit stop and you'll have to drive perfectly for 9 straight hours :)

I will run the minolta... Get way ahead and let it sit for a while in pip while I watch tv. If my bobs can get 20 laps ahead in an hour so can I. I'm thinking I'll easily be able to take breaks whenever I want. Go out for a smoke, grab a drink, etc... Just leave it running. Maybe make a day of it with a few friends and take turns on pit stops. The 24 hour races may never get done if they don't enable midrace saves.

Thanks for the replies. As an experiment I just ran the X2010 and averaged a 31 second lap against the 51 second lap of 2nd place so building a few laps ahead should be easy enough. Would love to see mid race game saves enabled as leaving the PS3 on pause in a house with my 3 children running around nearly caused me grief during the Nordschleife 4 Hour. I left it on pause while taking a dinner break and switched the TV channel over to watch the news only to see my little boy going to switch the PS3 off as he said I forgot to turn it off.

They were running .51x's? Wow.

I've done it in B-Spec and 2nd would run 1.01's fairly consistently.

I just did that yesterday. I picked the FGT I ended up with like 706 laps and lapped the 2nd place guy like 175 times or so. What a crappy endurance race though. 9 hours is insane I am not at all looking forward to the 24hr races. If I choose to do them. It'd be much more manageable if they had save points at pit stops.

LOL all those laps. think I may use the red bull and clock the laps up. Just my luck that PD will release an update enabeling game saves while I'm half way through.

I didnt really care about saves points but really.. after nurburgring and suzuka.. I cant see myselft play for 9 and 24 straight hours on the same track..

I mean, its not only about be able to turn off the ps3. ITs also because it could let us do 1 hour, do other races. 1 or 2 more hours. Turn the ps3 off.

Next day If I just dont wanna continue the endurance race, I CAN !

Iv done this 3 times now, and it doesnt get any more fun.

The last time i did it i used the RE Amemiya RX-7(blue 100,000cr one), it had 470bhp and 1200 ish kg weight and i was behind the S2000 GT1 Turbo until we came up to lap people, then he used the 'Bob' school of overtaking and sat behind them all while i overtook. I beat him by 5 laps eventually but even that didnt make it more exciting.

I have to take a break every hour or my back gives my gip. It took a day to do each one, starting about 8 in the morning.

Im looking forward to the 24hr races, at least they are using decent cars and they are bigger tracks. Whoever first had the idea to do an enduro at Tsukuba should have been shot, 4hrs was bad enough but 9 takes the piss.

I played for 6 hours straight using the X2010 and lapped the opponents 200+ times. Then I stopped the X2010 in front of the finishing line for the next 3 hours and left the game running there. After the 9 hours are over, I let the car go past the finishing line :)

For me Tsukuba is the dullest track in GT, I'm not looking forward to 9 hours there. I'd rather do it on the Autumn ring mini!

To make it a challenging race, you would have to pick a car which is underpowered in comparison to your opponents. But 9 hours of Tsukuba? Good grief.

I'll use my X2010 then proceed to leave it sitting at the start line for about 5 or 6 hours then mount the mother of all comebacks and win the race.

Think I will go into this with an overpowered car.
Certainly I could see doing this online where your actually racing with humans where it makes it more challenging but to battle the AI for 9hrs is going to be a stretch.

Exactly what im planning on doing.

Im not going to do the 24hr endurances races in the hope a patch is released allowing us to save. I don't know what PD were thinking because its silly expecting someone to drive for 24hrs. What about those who due to work or family commitments only get around 2hrs a day to play. This would mean they would have to leave there PS3 on for 12 days!!

That is hilarious...

My hope is to get a buddy to do it with me....should get beer, pizza and some movies to watch in the mean time....

i did same

I let bob do it, no way I will do any 4-9 hour races lol they must be trying to target the very young or unemployed demographic. lol

Definitely thought about this one for a while, but 9hours on a dull track is not for me, lol. When I did the 4hr Suzuka with the x1, it seemed to fly by pretty quick.
2 people/triple stint.
