Tsukuba Endurance Races... WTF

Had to do 530 laps (S2000 GT1 didn't showed up) which can be done in a bit less than 5 hours with the X1. To all the Tsukuba haters, I highly recommend using it.

I'm so glad I'm over with Tsukuba - shall I never race on that track again in GT5.

There are plenty of tracks that are underused, they could of quite easily upped each subsection of races from 9 events to 15, utilising more tracks, making things more interesting.

But as someone said, it gives you the perfect opportunity to improve your drifting.

Tsukuba... Small, slow and, in my opinion, dull. And I prefer well handlign cars over powerful ones, but still. It feels like it was built with the intention to make econoboxes feel kinda fast, as you can't get power down in a car that has some of it.

I don't need something like the old Mulsanne straight, but a track where you can't really unwind a car that's not underpowered feels lame to me.
The fact that the track is so short doesn't help, either. Especially not if you're racing it for hours on end. Looking at the Miata race, I can do, like, 30 laps around the 'Ring in four hours (~7:30 per lap = 8 laps per hour x 4 hours = 32 laps, minus pit stops etc.) or 240 around Tsukuba (~ 1:00 per lap = 60 laps per hour x 4 hours = 240 laps).

The track is bound to get boring after lapping it more than 200 times in a single event

Plus, it's totally handling biased. Tuning a car for Tsukuba will result in a very onesided vehicle.

@ desmosabie As much as I love to watch and play in the Daytona 500 in various games, having two 200 lap races around 2.5 mile ovals would not be popular.

The OP is right, this track was only fun in the special missions in GT4 when you could farm off that Madza 6 Touring car for a quick 100k +. But the thought of driving Miata / MX5's for 4 hours? And on that track that constantly has me looking at the lap counter and making me believe its going up..... dear god.

I will grind my a** of to avoiding doing either of them. Got a nice whack of XP for the Laguna 200 which I really really enjoyed in my RM'd Evo IX.

I'll complete it some day (maybe when GT5 gets hacked and I can reiterate the time lol)

I hated the 4 hour, but for some reason I really enjoyed the 9 hour. I did 3.5 hours at night and the rest the following morning. I did it in the Formula GT and found it quite enjoyable. I took the FGT with the plan of parking after a few hours, but was really into it and drove the entire time.

Did 705 laps all up and at the end worked out I could have parked for around 3 hours if I wanted to.

In some parts of the world this track is just as important as the nurburgring, it it the track on which all Japanese workshop cars prove themselves, but yeah nine hours is a will be a little boring in a game.

I am neutral. Tsukuba isn't my favourite track, but I don't hate it like I hate Fuji (if there was a 9hr Endurance there I would never do it). I'll do it eventually; neither looking forward to it, nor dreading it.

Meh.

+1 Fuji sux.

My race went quite fast for the first 30 minutes because I was having a close battle with the guy in first place. When we cought up to lap others, I passed them easily, and the other guy couldn't. He couldn't pass the guy in the last place for about 30 laps.
So I got lonely and it started to get very boring. Slow car, short slow track... What could be worse... A Fiat 500 Tsukuba 4 Hour race I guess.

I am fine with it although it would seem more interesting with another location so we don't have two endurance races on the same track. I can't wait to start on the Edurance Series and each event appeals to me.

Done the 4 hour a couple of nights ago, didnt mind the race or the track but the fact that it was Miata's really pi**ed me off. not really looking forward to the 9 hour on the same track but atleast i get to use a better car.

Just out of curiosity, of the folks that have completed the 4 hour, or even the 9 hour, any of you remember how many laps you ran? I would imagine the 4 hours is gonna get you close to 200 laps, whew! That track is really fun I think in small doses, I'm not sure how I'm gonna feel after the enduros though, but would agree with the sentiment that once is enough.

I don't remember exactly, but in the 4 hour race I did a couple of laps more than 200 in a stock Roadster '07. I think you actually might have to do more than 200, if you want to win this one.

Personally, i like Tsukuba. I don't love it, but i like it.

And what about two endurance races there? logically... That's another evidence of the japanese feeling of the game. I suspect that in Japan, they love Tsukuba, it is a great piece of the national motor history. That's the reason...

Edit: Yes...Wiki: "The track was established in 1966 with the aim of attracting young people to participate in motor sports, but was not actually completed until 1970. At the present time, an event is held every week. The track is commonly used for tuner events and has also gained popularity because of its heavy use by Best Motoring to test and race a variety of vehicles."

Would rather put a toothpick under my big toenail and kick a wall than drive around a paperclip in a Miata for four hours, even in real life.

Maybe alot of people like the Tsukuba track, but personally, i think it is one of the most boring tracks in the game.

And looking at the a-spec endurance races, there is a Tsukuba 4 hour AND a Tsukuba 9 hour...

Seriously???

Rather than use one of the other numerous tracks, ALL of which are a 🤬 of a lot more interesting and fun... they chose to use the same damn track for 2 endurance races. I have to sit on my couch and spend 13 god forsaken hours driving around that flat, small, boring stretch of tarmac. I would rather be forced to do the Nurburgring 24 Hour TWICE. At least in that one Im learning a fun and challenging track.

Sure, Tsukuba is famous, but my god... Its going to make my damn eyes bleed, and invoke thoughts of suicide after 13 hours...

Terrible decision.

this was my face when i got to L25 and saw that

the Nurburgring GP/F would had been a better choice

Tsukuba has always been boring. It's used in A LOT of the early races in GT5 as well, so you've already driven it to breaking point anyway by the time you reach endurance races.

Even on the lower events, when I see like 10 laps, I dread it.

I love seeing these people bash the Miata.
What I love more is how this nimble little RWD handles with Racing Hard tyres.
If you don't power out the car and blow away the competition it makes the 4hours go by so much faster.

I know, seriously. One of the best cars ever made in the history of man, and I bet these guys have never driven one in real life. Especially one that has some mods done to it. :ouch:

Screw the Daytona 500, how about the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona?

Yes! 👍

If I have an enduro that is really long, I'd much rather have it at a much longer track just to keep me entertained.

But Apples to Oranges I suppose.
