Spy shooters catch next-gen vehicle in the flesh

Audi has released sketches of its next-generation TT, due to hit the market late this year as a 2007 model. The coupe will come first, followed by the roadster in 2007. A wagon is also rumored.

Based on the A3, two powertrains will be available. The base will be the 2.0-liter, 200 hp turbo four. Uplevel from that will be the 3.2-liter V6 250hp. Both have a six-speed manual transmission standard. The 3.2 V6 also gets quattro 4wd standard.

Looks are great, but I'm a bit concerned that the base model won't be fast enough with "only" 200HP. You would think the output would have been increased for the TT....

The TT will have the 200hp 2.0T, the TTR will have the 3.2V6 with 250hp, and then there will be a 300hp TTRS with a turbocharged 3.2.

I was wondering myself... now I see it... the rear clusters are very "Eclipse-ish" from the side. I guess we'll know when they release a full-sized mock-up.

It has a pop up wing. The cars gonna be released in like 28 days. Theyre just teasing us now by showing a litle bit of the car every couple weeks. A remap of the 2.0t engine will see you 240bhp easy.

According to that site the RS model will have a 2.0 litre bi-turbo setup. Was the unit in the spied S3 the same as this one? That one supposedly only had 273hp though, and there was no mention of a bi-turbo setup.

VAG has so many engines Ive given up trying to keep up with Audi. Its too difficult a task with so much contradicting info out there.

So hopefully this new TT will be able to outdo the Nissan 350Z and Honda S2000, but probably only when equipped with the 3.2L VR6 and the DSG setup.

I dont understand how you can say it looks like the new Eclipse. I see the similarities but this new design seems to borrow heavy from the previous model. So wouldnt it be proper to say the new Eclipse looks like an Audi TT?

This is partially because i am biased towards VAG vehciles rather than Mitsu. But I think you all understand where im coming from.

I've never been a fan of the TT and this one doesn't change my mind. Infact, I almost think this one looks worse than the previous one...

I can't see the appeal in them.

The A3 or S3 gets my vote over a TT any day of the week.
