I was wondering if any of you master tuners out there could tune a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR RM '05 for me. This isn't just a normal tune though; I want it to crank out lap times. I would want the car to have a top speed of 170 to 180 mph (237 to 289 kmh, roughly). I want it to accelerate as quickly as possible to its top speed. The only reason I'm requesting a tune is because I'm no good at gear ratio/top speed tuning with cars on GT5. And the tune would be for use of a DS3. Any help is much appreciated. :). Once I get a tune that is just what I'm looking for, a picture of the car will be posted and credit to whoever gave the tune will be credited, as a "showcase" of the car, if you will. Thank you to everyone out there for your help with this tune.

Quick question, does the suspension matter?
I am asking because the suspension for this probably would not be good for track tuning.
However, I could work the transmission around the suspension.

If your suspension is lower in the front than mine and your rear end is higher than mine it might bog down on the launch. :)

Also, the horsepower and such?

Welcome to GTP!

Check the OP for parts and post 19 for the tune. That was a split compound week so your mileage may vary if you change up the tires.

If anyone tunes for lap times it's WRS folk. :sly:

Thank you for the tune; "showcase" thread coming soon. And you kind of included a tip on where to look for tap time tunes, so thanks for that as well, whether you meant to throw a tip in your reply or not. :)

Thanks for the welcoming to GTP! I really am more of a newbie when it comes to certain areas of suspension tuning, such as all I really know about it is what the in-game manual gives me. For the HP, it puts the car around 515 I believe, at least with every tuning part installed, which is my setup now. Tomorrow, I will post the total performance stats, like PP, torque, weight, etc.
When I bought the car, my plan was to make it perform like the HKS CT230R, but using a car with Racing Modifications available. And I will also post the setup I have for the car now.

So these are the performance statistics for my Lancer RM, as I promised.

514HP/7600 RPM
450ft-lb/5400 RPM
1080 kg
588PP

Awesome!
I will edit this post with the transmission in about 1 hour!
Thanks :)

Ok, here it is!

Reset transmission to default with all parts fitted to your car.
Set your final gear ratio to 4.250
Then set your Top Speed in the bottom at 118 mph

1st: 3.733
2nd: 2.691
3rd: 2.068
4th: 1.690
5th: 1.396
6th: 1.147

Then set your final gear ratio to 3.000. The top speed in the top right should read about 183mph.

**Note
Make sure if you are to set 1st gear all the way to the left after completing all the steps it is close to 3.470. It is ok if it is a little off, it will vary with different horsepower and miles.
Enjoy, hope you like it! :)

You're welcome, and thank you for the transmission tuning. :)

Alrighty, give me a day or two and I'll get back to you.

Sure thing! I can't wait to see what you can do with the car. I do want you to know though, that I might not be able to get back to you after you work on the car until next weekend, maybe later.

All good, I actually have a pretty good setup already that I forgot I even had. ~58 at Tsukuba and 1:32.442 at Trial Mountain. Easily capable of much better times in the hands of a better driver.

Writing it up as we speak.

Edit: Here you go

Thanks, fbccars! The only bad thing about this is at I might not be able to test it until the weekend, but I'm very sure that it will be worth the wait. :)

I'm still working on the tranny. As of now it only gets up to around 160mph and kinda sluggishly for my tastes but keep an eye out as I will most likely have a retune on the trans in a day or two.

That's perfectly okay. I'd keep the 160 mph on a different setting for shorter courses, but that's just me. Obviously its your tune, so who am I to give you a pointer, or tip, or whatever you want to call it?

I know you have gotten several tunes and what not I'm good with tranny's so i figured i'd build one and test to the other two you've gotten here is what i got
(all times +/- 0.500 seconds, all test done with Vagaboonds set up from your tune post)
Kolio Tune TS 289 kmh
0-280 kmh 22.517 seconds
FBccars TS 303 kmh
0-280 kmh 23.866
my tune TS 295 km
0-280 kmh 22.617
my tune 2 TS 304 km
0-280 22.370
The reason the times are +/- 0.500 is due to me not having the speed test tracks so i can't get exact times these are what i could get from replay & pause.

Reset defaults.
Set FD to 5.000
set TS to 220kmh/140
1st 3.140
2nd 2.270
3rd 1.710
4th 1.380
5th 1.144
6th 0.965
adjust FD to 3.515 for TS of 300km/186mph which give TS of 295kph before governor
Adjust FD to 3.351 for TS of 314km/195mph which gives TS of 304kph before governor

Couple things.
Kolio's tune was quick but did feel sluggish in spots and hit the governor several times and with the FD as bottom end you can't make it faster.
FB's tune was very quick in all gears except 1st which it was very slow to get out of.
My tune is just as quick as the others with the option to make it faster or slower with out issues.

^ As is stated above though I am still working on the Lancer tune in terms of the Tranny. Got a few bugs to work out still.

The tranny is solid except for first when i brought the car to stop reved the engine and dropped the brake it tanked the RPM and chugged out of first once it got into a 2nd it was smooth from there.

Yes, it does get into the redline but it still has the horsepower after redline. I think it was 178mph it was set to or something.

Also, 3.000 will have the fastest acceleration, that is why I have it down there.

I will test all of them at the speed test track. Thanks for posting your setup, love to see more and more contribute. 👍

Kolio123's Tune
0-60 mph: 2.517
0-100 mph: 5.656
0-1/4 Mile: 10.430
0-1 Mile: 27.015
0-174 mph: 23.279
Comments: This was the fastest of them all for the acceleration on the Speed Test. Keep in mind, this car is most likely not going to be raced on a track in which it hits 180 mph and tops out for the whole track. This would be my second bet for the road courses. I would have to tie this with Otaliema's setup for your average driver on a road course. The times are just too close to call it faster no matter what, especially with different drivers.

Otaliema's Tune
0-60 mph: 2.531
0-100 mph: 5.719
0-1/4 Mile: 10.466
0-1 Mile: 27.074
0-174 mph: 23.463
Comments: Felt very fast on the launch, however it did not have the acceleration pull after 3rd gear. For racing on a road course, it has potential.

fbccars924's Tune
0-60 mph: 3.759
0-100 mph: 6.936
0-1/4 Mile: 11.527
0-1 Mile: 28.188
0-174 mph: 24.716
Comments: Will be very honest on this one. Had a harsh take off, bogged down real hard. However, I believe it would be the best out of all these for a road course. This is why, it has great acceleration after the initial launch.
Will add personal comments soon.

Will update this post with the other tuners times for me(my results) on SSRX Speed Test.
All time will be using an automatic transmission and a black screen launch.(Everything is equal in testing)

I should re iterate that I am still working on this transmission at this stage. I do have an idea as to what my plan of attack is for the car. I am on the new side with AWD cars. Prior to this my only good AWD's were a Slider 22b and a Touge Evo 9 for the T400 class.

Totally understand, had the same problem when I started 4WD.

Thank you koloi for the break down on the tunes on the test track. If gt6 want so close I'd buy them. Said it slowed down in 3rd gear a bit, I think I can pull some out of it. And pick up the accel, I figured 6.8k rpm was the target I thin I'm dropping out of that by a few hundred with the lower fd setting. Did you try the shorter fd or the longer one?

Almost forgot about your 2 FD settings! I tried the shorter one(larger number, 3.515). I have done multiple tests with the FD. With a kart it goes as follows: Minimum FD, faster acceleration. Maximum FD, higher top end.
I set my FD first, then I maxed out the top speed in the bottom. Tested both equally.

Also, almost every drag car is run with a minimum FD, as this will allow max acceleration. Top end tunes are mostly run with a maximum FD setting, this will allow it to pull more after it reaches close to it top speed(not bouncing off the rev).
