Okay I searched this up, shifted through a zillion pages and couldn't find anything.

So I want to ask anybody who knows or owns the game if you can have a tuned car in the 2-Player Battle.

I know you cannot get "Garage Cars" but can you pick a car and than tune it?

Or is it only available in stock form... :grumpy:

If you cannot tune cars in GT4 they official screwed over the Asians and North Americans and made me feel more jealous than I have had in my life.

So..? Anybody?

You can choose different tires..

I don't know if we can tune when they are cars in 2 player modes, but maybe there will be in NTSC release.

I'm looking for an answer too.

You can tune them by adding more or less horsepower and/or weight, as well as choosing different tires. This isn't even close to the tuning options available in gran turismo mode, but it's better than nothing.

i don't see this as a big deal. since to tune the cars you play in career mode. in 2p mode, you're just racing against a friend so i don't see much of a need to tune cars in 2p. however using your garage cars in 2p would be different. cuz then u can race ur hottest cars against your friends, and they're actually your cars to see who's faster.

imo, the 2 player mode really sucks.

The graphics has to be downgraded to a point where it's just not fun to play.

Even in gran turismo 3, the 2 player graphics were better. Maybe because the tracks are longer now and so the detail has to be decreased even more.

I would rather compete with my friends in a time attack kinda thing using free run or sth

Wouldn't they just use the exact same models in A-spec mode for 2p battle mode?

Your last sentence sums up the whole thing. I wanna race MY cars against my buddy's cars. Not only that, but when you're racing on the same track at the same time (unlike time attacks) it becomes entertaining for the 'gallery' too. How about ilink? Anybody tried that?

U mean u can t play six people. O well it was just announced today Forza will have 8 player system link every player could hook up to his own tv.or 2 Gt4 if the AI is troublesome GT4 will make good practice running times on laguna Tksuba and the Nurb untill march.

Is there Photo mode with 2 player?

I don't have the game but i see no reason why it shouldn't be possible to save a eplay and take snaps fom that, photo travel however is out of the question, what would be useful for?

Last time I checked there are no 2 player replays. Why PD left this out is beyond me...

And I'd also like a solid answer as to whether or not garage cars will be useable in either 2 player or lan mode. I really want to be able to compete against my friends, but I especially want to be able to use my tuned cars over XLink Kai. If PD leaves out this basic feature that has been in the game since the beginning of the series, I'm going to be purchasing GTR for the PC instead (It comes out on the same day as GT4).

Bah.
What about the suspension settings?

someone somewhere on these boards posted a while ago that they thought the reason you can't use garage cars in arcade mode is because you could get around having to pay for track time in simulation mode. The fact that the PAL release will include garage cars in arcade mode kinda shoots this reasoning down, but it is yet to be announced if the NA version of the game will have the PAL updates.

OK i run a local GT lan club. i realy need to know!

1. is it a six player lan *using the cat5* hookup?

2. what tracks are avalable in lan mode?

3. what cars are avalabe? / can you use your garage in Lan mode?

also several times a year we have a meet its usaly just folks from my car club Wasserwerks (its german for "waterworks") we are a water cooled VW club.

if your in a few hours or less drive leave me a way to contact you. phone#/email

we usally hold it some where in Torrington, CT

Garage is also available in NA release, seeing there is only two weaks differende(for more EU translations) all the PAL updates are in the NA release, mabe you guys only got 5 or 7 less cars thats all.

I want GT4, but after you go through simulation mode, and you want to challenge ppl, its hard not racing your tuned car.

I just hope the NA version gets what the PAL is getting. Also i would love if they had 2plyr replays in vs. mode.

I wouldnt mind not having 100 less cars in the game, just to have 2plyr tuned garage mode and replays... :)

What would be 10x better would be, tuned garage cars and replays in 6player Lan mode! 👍

But that is less realistic than having a certain Italian automaker, in the game....

That question is killing me too!

I hope there is! Im sure it will be, why would they include it in the PAL and not the US?

BTW when is the PAL version comming out?
Is it 1 week after the NA release?

I should figure this out now so I know what to do come 10 days... do I need something more than just a mod chip to play PAL games on my NTSC PS2? Ya know, just incase SCEA screws us over and doesn't give us 2P Memory card battles. :sly:

someone should email PD and ask
\I don't know how to speak/type japanese.

I did Email SCEA asking why the game was delayed from the December 04 release and I got a form letter back restating the press release (even though I had quoted it in my letter to them). Long story short, they are muppets and won't tell you anything.

Allsops: you only need a mod chip, but you need to have one that will work with GT4. I think people were saying the Messiah chip worked, but most others didn't.
