Turbo causing insane handling?

So I've had a brilliantly reliable RX-7 RE Amemiya that I've put alot of effort into tweaking suspension settings etc.

But I recently decided to add a new Turbo into it and now the car has gotten a very strange sense on handling. It seems to lack power going around the corners, but coming out the backend steps out in big fashion. Almost as if TC is overworking and then failing to work (I have it set as default [5]).

I decided that the extensive tweaking may have harmed it in some way. So to be safe than sorry I defaulted everything in the tuning menu and tried to go about tweaking again.

But I still havent got anything that resembles the car previous without its turbo (Stage 3 I should add). Has anyone else noticed this or has anyone got a setup in mind that they could give?

Im not at home, actually in work lol, but I'd like to get something setup for walking through the door late on. Any questions I can hopefully answer through out the day.

Cheers.

It's called Turbo Lag or Boost Threshold. If you keep an eye on your boost gauge [lower right screen] you'll notice that if you go full throttle in 2nd or 3rd gear the level will spike up all the way to full boost somewhere upwards of 5-6k rpm. This causes a huge spike in power, good for top speed and drag racing if you can hook up, but coming out of turns you have to wait a little longer to get back on the throttle or you're done for.

-Try turning the traction control to 3 or 2, it should help a little with the power surging.
-Go in to the suspension set up and turn the toe in on the rear tires to 1.0-2.0 and you should get some added stability under power. good luck!

try changing the the turbo to stage 1 or stage 2 to get the desired point of acceleration

remember... more power not always good power.

I like to do things in parallel, not the best tuner so if I drop the front by .5, I'd drop the back by .5 too. Rarely do I change that.

Should I maybe have the back sitting higher than the front? So when I hit the gas the weight shift isnt going to decrease the grip? Am I right in thinking thats correct?

and second of all your loosing all your power in the turns because your tc is on. trying turning it off and try to control your throttle exiting the turn. this might help.

If you have a low front and a high back, you are more likely gunna oversteed.

Ride height doesn't effect weight transfer much. If you put a lower spring rate in the rear, and perhaps take out some compression damping (possibly extension too) it can also help you hook up.
