Turbo sounds missing

Most the the STI video's posted on the first page are HKS SSQ BOV's which
are aftermarket. I'd say on most cars you don't really hear much of the
air released because it's get recirculated. Once you DO vent it to the atmosphere, even POSSIBLE, depends on the car. Then you will ear it..

IE: Like Older Eclipses/DSM's

my srt-4 came with a stock surge valve, which just vented back into
the turbo. They sale a plate that goes between then then vents it to
the atmosphere and gives it a woooooooooospppppph when getting out of
positive boost.

I'd say on a stock STI you don't hear the BOV

Most MAF cars venting to the atmosphere makes it run like crap, unless
some sort of tune is done to it.

Cars without maf's aren't really effected

I don't know what turbo cars you drive, but the actual turbo'd cars in prologue are quite accurate as to their real life counterparts.

the stock sti uses a bypass value, not blowoff value, go test drive a bone stock sti yourself to see if that bypass value makes any sound.
i drive a sti myself and i know for a fact that there's no "bov sound" when driving, unless an aftermarket bov is installed.
btw, installing a aftermarket bov on a sti with the stock top mount intercooler is probably the worst thing you can do when it comes to modding the sti.
however, an aftermarket intake adds the swooosh sound, even the spt intake does.

Couldn't agree more. Let's not get into real stats and reasons but stick to the facts- GTP has little turbo sound or superchargers. It can't be that hard to do? Generally feel a bit let down by the audio on the game. Best V8 I ever heard in a game was Half Life 2 randomly. Noone seems to be able to do it?

That i guess i can live with as I am always in the VTEC zone :)

Actually, cars like DC5 stock has very minor sound changes during vtec crossover unless you have open air intake.

true, but considering it's a sim, i think it's just appropriate. i just love hearing the sound of the crossover, specially with tuned cars. i love that popping noise they make :D

as far as the stock cars go I don't have a huge problem with the turbo sound in the game. The tuned ones on the other hand I think should be way louder.

Little story for yah, a non car guy friend of mine rode with me in the WRX before I did anything to it. Then a few weeks later after I had installed the up and down pipe, boost gauge and SPT intake he rode with me again. First time I let off the gas he looked at the gauge and asked "dose this thing have a turbo or something'" to witch I said yes why. So yes its that quite If you didn't already know you would never guess a stock WRX had a turbo. Now my friends 88CRX with a B16 and a T3/T4 turbo you can tell thats got a turbo about a block away. The sound of that thing spooling up drowns out the exhaust and the BOV is crazy loud.

heres is a great example of wat gt5 should be....

one of the best sounding cars...i think

and damage...lol, not that i hope this happens to anyone, but would be interesting to see in the game.

Dutch, that middle video has the loudest highest pitched tranny I ever heard! lol First one is sick, I can't believe GT5 doesn't have straight cut gear noise!!

i guess that goes to show how much racing has progressed. I remember there was a time when F1 was going to be banned, if better regulation on safty would not be implamented. Back in the day, on live tv you would see people dieing. It was a very dangerous sport. I mean iv seen shumy take a flip in his car and walk away fine. Its preety amazing

and yes it would be great to see GT5 sound like that. It would make other racing games seem like need for speed. and we all know how those games are....need i say more
