Which type of engine setup do you prefer. The annoying hiss of the winding up turbo or the power, noise and brute force of a Naturally Aspirated Monster from south city?

Personally I like the  😈 feel of the NA Monsters like the Dodge Charger, Challenger, GTX etc

Rather than the  noise of the Subaru WRX.

One more thing...If there is one thing that makes me  it's that annoying simulated blow off valve sound whenever you take your foot off the accelerator in a Turbo car!

It really depends on what races you wanna race in...I kinda like both but I just think that Turbo overdoes it sometimes. Right now I have a 3000GT using NA and I kinda like it...

I love my Skylines. They handle great. They are very fast. and Good-looking.

I love the high pitched whine of the turbos spooling, and the hiss of the wastegate bleeding of boost.

BTW, the buzzing whine from the turbo RX-7's is a bit off from how they actually sound...which is a "whoomp......whoomp...whoomp" shound.

I agree. Friend of mine said that her Rotary Mazda spent more time in the garage being fixed than on the road.

What is it with RX3's running the 12A Rotary. 1.1 litres :nervous: . The New 13B Turbo is a great upgrade.

I prefer turbo. It gives you more power and it sound better to.

Supra and Skyline are one of my favorite cars. Especially when they are tuned to the max.

Depends on what track I'm racing on.

On the big fast courses with long sweeping turns, like Red Rock or Seattle, then the turbos are usually my choice. Once they get wound up, they're untouchable by almost any NA cars. Adding in sticky tires (and maybe 4-wheel drive or ASC if need be) to help get around the turns with minimal slowing puts the icing on the cake.

Conversely, the slower, more technical courses like Autumn Ring or Rome Night will make me favor an NA car. Since they usually have much better acceleration at low speeds than a turbo, they're ideal for powering out of tight corners. Proper gearing and suspension tweaking will let the NAs rocket off the 90-degree turns while the turbos are struggling to get their impellers spun up again.

Of course there's good and bad exceptions to both those rules, but generally that's my take on it. NA cars are more suited to twisty tracks, and turbos are best for tracks where going forward is the priority.

The TVR Cerbbera LM is NA and FAST AS HELL. That's probably the best handleign RWD car I have. My fasted time on Red Rock Valley is 56.205 with the Escudo, and I run 56.602 with the Cerbbera LM.

You can enter corners very fast and run the corner at about 30mph faster than any other car...including AWD cars.

well its hard...little RX-3's can run high 6 second passes...can any V8 match that...yeah but with 5000hp.

i voted V8, i love my muscle ;)

to me, i enjoy turbo powered vehicles, i.e. R32's and FC's and FD's. but when it comes to cars with engines such as hondas, i prefer NA, becuz of its high reving engine

RX7's are swt =)

i didnt think there was really a contest.
Rotaries are beautiful but blow up to much. How else can you make so many HP/litre though.
But turbo engines are 5x easier to mod and such, in real life at least. In the game it doesnt matter. But i voted cause in real life its so much easier to mod a turbo car, as well as it costing much less for more hp. Oh man, i feel the import vs. domestic battle boiling already.

Take a look at the HP #'s coming from Honda's B16 & B18 engines. B16A is 160hp, B18C is 175hp, B18C5 (ITR) is 195hp. That's a at least 100hp/liter, the equivilant of a 4.6L Mustang engine running 460hp stock.

thats completely true, one of the reasons i like imports, but you also have to remember that those cars dont produce that much torque. just like motorcylces, crazy hp/ltr, but veryyyyyy little torque. Oh well, once you get moving in a drag race whats the need for torque..... hehehe

Although I saw a turbo for my real life car (IS300) priced at $30,000 installed!

But it did have alot of bang! 606+wheel horse power!

turbo all the way! the high pitched hum like that of a mosquito is like music to my ears. plus turbos provide a significant amount of horsepower without speding a fortune.
