'60s dragracing insanity.

I've heard of this outfit, but never knew this much information about them. This goes right along with the quad-Allison-V12-powered AWD drag monsters and other relics of a bygone era.

The early drag racing day had some crazy ideas that were used. I was lucky enough to see a few of them actually run. Now they sit in the hall of fame and rarely see the track. They do have this thing called "Cacklefest" where they line up a bunch of the old school cars on the return road and fire them all up at the sametime. Its usually at night so you see all the flames. Its euphoric.

Here are some shots I took of some trippy setups.

Turbonique setups go for crazy money today. Even the simple 2 barrel turbonique units will fetch over 800 dollars.

I could go for a jet drag axle..:trouble:

The story about the superfast go-kart is incredible.

It's too bad "thermolene" is a name of a plastic now.

Turbine. Drag. Axle.

Whoops? Did that HKS T51 just go out the window? That GMC blower go into the dumpster? Sorry. I have a better toy.

Geez. these guys were insane. I mean, a Rocket powered Turbo.
