I push the button on the front. Have for a very long time. The only times I've ever turned it off via the back switch is when I first got it for about a week, or when I'm taking it out of it's place.
jman86I take it after reading all these posts here that nobody has really bothered to go into their System Configuration, and set the internal clock on the PS2, which is why I always use the front button to put the system in standby.
However, the PS2 does have an internal battery to keep track of the clock in case you do disconnect the system, but for how long and how accurate the clock remains, I wouldn't know.
Now I was able to dig up the old manual, and it basically says that the only time you do turn off the main power at the back of the system, is when your not going to be using the system for an extended period of time.
Mind you, there have been times for when I didn't use my system for months and I still kept it on standby and never had a problem.
So basically just think of it as a VCR, when we're not watching a movie, the VCR is in standby mode, which constantly harasses us with the blinking 12:00, unless of course you bothered to set the clock, which 99% of the peole on these forms including myself have probably never bothered to do.![]()
