Turning off REALLY distracting popups in game

When I do the online event races, when I put in a fastest lap, I get a semi-transparent popup in the left of the screen.

It's REALLY disatracting and almost always ruins my next lap. Is the a way to turn this off, it's ruining the game for me.

Just ignore them, I do not see how they are that distracting. Unless of course, you try and read them, that could certainly ruin your next lap!

They are like 7 items high, with "last lap invalidated" from an hour ago and other useless ****.

What's really ironic, is all the places in Gran Turismo, where notifications like this would make the game 1000x better (like all the useless paint colour popups you have to click), they don't use them there, but stick them here instead.

I really hope for Gt6, they sack the idiot that's been designing the game UI, as it totally ruins an otherwise perfect game.

Everybody does have right to an opinion, but that right do not stretch over calling people "idiots" just because something that subjectively and personally does not fit your private way of thinking.

"Choice" is where it's at.

With stuff like this, it should be "easily switchonandoffable" (to use an old TV advert catchphrase)... let the player decide if he wants the info or not.

That is good game design.

i hear ya OP,
i get distracted easily and not being able to switch this useless crap off is a nuisance.

I'd like to disable/delete trophies too, several times i've gotten trophies while driving hard, resulting in a frame stutter and a crash.
I don't know or care where the trophies are but when you get one the frame rate zeroes for a moment.

I think you can in the XMB.
