That would be me. Not sure what the rules are on this: I spent hours practicing with the M3 on that track. I was so ready. I was clocking 2:12s consistently and felt great about a 22 lap race.

Unfortunately, life had other plans. My DFGT came unattached from my WSP in the middle of the first race and I could not get it re-attached in a manner quick enough to make the race worth finishing. Second race...My back was hurting to the point of having to quit. This has to be a result of spending too much time "hunched" over racing the old way without enough break time.

I do/did not like the idea of quitting. Couldn't avoid it last night. I do plan on resuming racing when I get back home on Tuesday.

Oddly enough, I just drove 8.5 hours from LA to TN today. My back doesn't feel great at the moment. I should be good for Enduro practice and Saturday race though. I had fun racing while I do though last night.

once, I crashed during a race then my wheel yanked out of the laptop table I used before... I was able to put it back on and finished the race... I mean I ran out of time so technically I wasn't able to finish it.

I am planning to buy a wheelstand pro soon... any tips to make sure it won't come off during the race?

Do you even get a nap time in between driving long distances? Drive safe man! See you next race!

All my usuals appear taken. Reckon I'll try #58. Color combo requested is Sapphire Blue Pearl on the car with the stock polished aluminum color of whichever wheel I put on the car or Silver Chrome paint chip.

Great, I'll get you added to the Drivers List. Thanks!

Can I change my color to silver with red wheels? I am running low on orange.

I was just taking photos this morning and thought how much I liked your combo! I can send you some orange if you like, I'm sure others would as well if you want to stay the same.

Let me know.

The easiest way to make cash and level bspec drivers is the remote race widget. If you don't have a problem leaving your PS3 and a computer turned on you can run remote races while you sleep or work or are otherwise occupied. Using that widget and an alternate account I've been credit capped so many times I've bought every car in the NCD, OCD and UCD and lost count.

I can vouch for the Widget as well.

That's how i made my virtual millions back in the day:sly:

of course, my ps3 died a young death, so be sure to keep it well ventilated (and upright? noticed the bottom gets very hot) if you keep it on for 24 hours running gt5 as it gets hot.

mic, you are currently making the moneys in a remote race.

I have a PS3 slim, can those be stood on end, or are you referring to the original "phat" PS3?

i had/have an original Fatty.

I don't know anything about the slims. I think they have stands for those, but i dont know if they have the same overheating YLOD issues.

and THANKS! 👍

There are ways to maximize your daily take on the remote races. The lemans races used to be the biggest money winners if i recall; and then you make sure your 6 drivers win as many as possible! I'll check my online dudes to make sure they are sucky drivers

Turtle Racing League – TYRO Racing Series

Overview

The Turtle Racing League is a league for North American Drivers that features weekly SPEC Racing using single make untuned vehicles. The Turtle Racing League - TYRO Racing Series is designed especially for beginners that would like to try online racing. However, a separate division is also open to experienced drivers who would like to take advantage of the close competitive racing this series will certainly offer. The regulations and format for the TYRO Racing Series were carefully considered to promote tight racing and close finishes whether you are a beginner or an experienced driver. The two divisions in the TYRO Racing Series are: Division A - for beginners that are new to online racing, and Division 1 - for experienced drivers already accustomed to racing online. Race sessions are on Saturday night at 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific and include Two - 30 Minute Races. Qualifying is for 15 minutes and the grid order is "Fastest First" for Race 1 and "Reverse Grid" for Race 2. Each car and track will be used for 2 consecutive weeks. Promotion

Drivers in Division A who finish in 1st place overall for three consecutive weeks will be promoted to TYRO Division 1. However, if it is obvious a driver is ready to be promoted before then they will be.

Policies

The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports - "It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free."

You are encouraged to read and adhere to the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules and exercise Good Racecraft at all times, especially in turn 1.

The First Turn Rule - It is the policy of this league for you to hold your position in turn 1 and not try to improve it unless the following situations occur: 1) The driver directly in front of you is asleep on the start. 2) The driver directly in front of you runs off course with at least 2 wheels off the track. 3) Obvious race incidents that must be avoided. 4) If you are able to fully draft past someone without incident or disruption to the other driver(s) with a reasonable distance before approaching the first turn.

Holding your position in the first turn is limited to the first turn on the first lap. This rule is in place for 2 reason: (1) to effectively avoid incidents in the first turn, and (2) so that drivers who are being careful and doing their part to avoid incidents in the 1st turn of are not taken advantage of. There is no sense in causing an incident in the congestion of the first turn. You can not win the race on the 1st turn or even the 1st lap. If a complaint is filed, the decision we make will be one that promotes an incident free first turn.

Race Incidents

Legitimate complaints are encouraged, they insure a better racing environment for everyone. Complaints should be addressed by "Private Message" to the race steward of the race in which the incident occurred. Please include race number, lap number, and time of incident. A ruling will be announced after a video review by an independent steward. All racing incidents or racing related issues shall be dealt with privately and under no circumstance mentioned publicly.

Sorry Gents, no turtle gems this time, knocking this out on my lunch break! I hope you enjoy!

When I first got my PS3 two Christmases ago and started b-spec grinding the following January my PS3 didn't get turned off for 8 weeks. If I wasn't doing A-Spec, online events or buying cars, I was grinding cash so I could catch up somewhat to all the folks who'd already been playing since GT5 release. Was grinding from the time I'd go to bed until I'd get off work the following day.

I was just taking photos this morning and thought how much I liked your combo! I can send you some orange if you like, I'm sure others would as well if you want to stay the same.

Let me know.

If you could send me some orange pain Jay, I would really appreciate it! Let me know what color you need and I'll send it to you.

If you'd like to gain some extra b-spec experience and credits, make sure we are friends and you have at least 1 driver shared. When I get back next week, I'm going to start "Hosting" remote races while I'm at work. In the meantime, if you happen to be hosting any races, I'll have a driver to share starting this afternoon ;).

Thanks!
Jay*doc I'm definitely interested in doing this sometime with you. Problem is I know very little about it. I don't want to do it all the time, if my ps3 died I would be sad and stay in a dark room until I die. Or come off with another $300 and start all over. Do we share an existing driver from my list? Race with or against each other? Thanks!

Nice shots jay*doc! 👍
Afraid to get me an angle? Or was I just too far ahead of the cameraman?
I kid. But also I wouldn't mind doing some remote racing, just add me @littleregret265. Unfortunately, my drivers aren't as talented as I am. :grumpy:

It appears my preferred color combo has come available. Is it ok if I abandon my blue/white combo for a green car / yellow wheels?

Those are great jay*doc, thanks!

Nice pics jay*doc.👍

Thank You & Thank You!

If you could send me some orange pain Jay, I would really appreciate it! Let me know what color you need and I'll send it to you.

Any orange in specific, I'll send some in the AM!

It's as simple as sharing a driver. Then, when I'm running a "Remote Race", I can select him and he'll gain experience and money for you when you cash him in. Only the host has to leave their PS3 on, and really, the other drivers do not have to do anything, not even have your PS3 on. It's always nice etiquette to host once in a while and help your friends get the moneys. Here is a good "Remote Race FAQ"

So sorry litteregret! I was in a hurry, I only had this morning to take the photos so I could edit/post during lunch! I thought I got all of us! Next time, I'll give you 2 photos :p

That Lambo will be tough to tame. Sliding/drifitng the car may look cool and feel fast but it will KILL your tires over the longer runs.

It was sure fun doing it in practice though!

Yes it was, it's also a great skill to have. I actually try to do a few laps like that in practice as it does a couple things. I get to learn the characteristics of the car in "out of control" situations so I can adjust my style to make it behave the way I want and the second is it let's me wear down the tires a bit so i have an idea of what the car may be like in the end of a long run without having to do all the laps.

That car is just fun to throw around like that. Dragonwhiskey was watching so we had to put on a show.:)

It was his 1st time so I was actually worried that he would think we were a bunch of drunk baboons for driving like we did!
