I'm not counting that fact out, but why would they spend all that time modelling a track and not put it in the game? :dunce:

Because Nissan paid for it?

I'd love to see it return to GT5 in all it's incarnations... I loved this track in GT4, I have very fond memories of racing my Civic around it :)

Hopefully they'll be generous enough and port it into GT5.

Personally I'm super-excicted if Motegi is released for GT5. And the part I'm most excited for is the oval. I'm a NASCAR fan, and as a NASCAR fan I found it incredibly disapponting that there's only 2 NASCAR tracks in GT5 when NASCAR was one of the new selling points. Well 3 or 4 tracks if you consider that NASCAR used to go to Sazuka East a couple years and Fuji one year. Not even Infineon, which the NASCAR layout was already featured in GT4.

And while Motegi isn't a NASCAR track, it's a very good oval for NASCAR. It's a very good analog for a track like Atlanta or Rockingham.

Can anyone tell me what the length of the oval is? 1 mile? 1.5? If it's 1 mile, it's alot like Dover, which is a fantastic track.

Hopefully it does come to GT5. At least NASCAR fans playing GT5 will now finally play something else besides Daytona..........ehhh.....they'll probably still just play Daytona lol. Even on the actual NASCAR games that's all they ever seem to play. I'd have to sit there 20 minutes for 1 person to actually join my Watkin's Glen rooms, and they usually end up quitting anyway. LOL

Also a question. Is Motegi the GT track that also has a 2nd "almost" oval that's basically like Martinsville (a .5 mile paperclip) just with a small shakane on the back stretch? Or was that one of the "Test Track" layouts?

Motegi has a Superspeedway with a pair of turns that have different radii - I think the Super Speedway in GT2 was the same general shape but then spruced up with huge stands and a canopy over one end and no road course.

---

Motegi - I quite like it, It has a few twisty bits but a nice track for a run to learn the habits of a car without too much chatter from the track (Lumps bumps )

Motegi Speedway is like Darlington, as both of the turns are different.

The length is similar as well.

Darlington is a little more banked and tightly packed, but the shape is identical.

Painfully dumb Question I know..
But what is the proper pronunciation of this track?

In my head I'm saying, "Moe-Tegie" not sure though 👍

That onboard shot at 2:10-2:16 reminded me of GT5 (With the name above the car).

I hope the track makes it to GT5 as any new track is allways fun to learn how to drive it and race it :).

I Don't like it a lot, the track layout is pretty good but the scenary is so lame, Doesn't catch the much of my attention

Hopefully they'll make it with Time Changes on the full track and add all variations we had on GT4

Also still waiting for Seattle Circuit :nervous:

I always pronounced it 'mo-teg-e' :)
Thank You!

Hmmm, when I'm racing I never pay attention to the scenery.

I really like Motegi, and would love to see it back in the series. I love Best Motoring, and it's be cool to have some online 'super-battles' with my friends on the road course layout. However, I also seriously hope that they include the oval.

I know a lot of people hate the ovals and hate NASCAR, but just because it's in the game doesn't mean you have to use it. For those people that are into these 890hp monsters and the big oval tracks, there are currently nowhere near enough ovals in the game.

Motegi isnt exactly what i would have wished for but any track additions are welcome.
I havent raced on motegi since gt4 and pretty much have forgotten most of the track layout so im really looking forward to re-learning a new track (if i can call it a new track)

Same.

But i do more than racing, sometimes i just want to cruise on tracks on low speed looking at the small details everywhere. Or even take some pictures, then what is on the background is important.

If you don't download gt academy will you still get the track ???? I ask this because I am unable to download gt academy because I have a Australian account and it isn't available in the OZ ps store .

Nobody even knows if Motegi will be DLC or not, so I wouldn't worry about it for the time being.

What is there to discuss exactly? We know it's going to be in the Academy, that's about it.

Your video is also misleading in that sense, since there is no confirmation it will come to GT5 unless I've missed something.

Thes not a lot to pick on about this video just a guy showing what the track looks like . But you found a bone to pick init most of you lot on GTP find little things to pick on and make it into the biggest thing in the wolrd just get a life loser 👎

Ugh, you're one of THOSE...

"HEY! is that a monkey on that branch?" *PUNTS AT 120kmh causes massive pileup in the first lap*

Create an account for a country that does have the academy? You can then play it with your Australian account.

I doubt Motegi will be only available to those of us who do the academy.

I'm sure it will be pay DLC for everyone.

I like this track. Hopefully this will be in the next DLC.

Cool video man.

I need more tracks. Don´t care really which ones. More tracks are very welcome to me.
Give us MOAR!! anything at this point!! (i have 37€ on my PSN waiting for PD to release something more)

One of the less interesting tracks in GT4, but at least it's something I guess.

I remember modifying a VW van in GT4 with every upgrade available and running it around that track :)

I've made this short video, 👍:)

Do you think we will get all 4 variants, East Course, West Course, the Speedway and the full circuit like past GT games?

hey Kazzmark, thanks for making that video- we appreciate it. (except for simonk, lol). Maybe you could modify it to include an onboard view during a race from gt4 or something? Maybe just hang in the middle of the pack so we can watch the car in front of you, and see how he's reacting? It's hard to get an idea of what it's like from the replay camera angles of that subaru. Btw, is that you driving? Very skillful. 👍

I bet we will get all 4 variants including the oval. The oval is a great addition for the Nascer boys, and could also be great fun in arcade mode with a pack of 16 FGT's ripping it up. :sly:

The road course, like many have pointed out, is not a very exciting one. Any new track addition helps, though. I'm sure I'll grab a gt500 car and give it a few go's.

Does anyone know it they run races at Motegi at night? If they don't do that in RL, then I must admit that a time-transition taking you through the nighttime would not be all that cool/useful. Maybe from morning to dusk? I could dig that. Hopefully they include the weather option, for sure. That may spice things up quite a bit for a track that could definitely use a 30lb bag of spices.

That's the biggest hogwash I've read all day. So you're saying they'd model it to work in GT academy (which must have basically the same engine as GT5) and then not bother to hit Ctrl+C and move it to GT5 but rather model it all over again for a game coming out in more than a year's time.

What? I think it's more of a far-fetched to actually think that for GT6, they're gonna delete it and remodel all over it again from scratch. Who's to say GT6 isn't gonna use GT5's engine? Are you proclaiming that it's going to be for the PS4?

Second, there are probably lots of other tracks already modeled, as do cars. It doesn't mean they'll be released for GT5. Plus, the picture you see are just a portion of the track, for GTAcademy. It doesn't automatically translate that they got the whole track and every variant, already modeled. That's beside the point though.

I'm not saying the track has a slight chance of making it into GT5 (cause personally I think it does have a good chance), but it's not out of the realm that it's gonna be saved for GT6. Just play it safe.

Sounds like Motegi is pretty flat with simple geometric corners. In which case it seems like the perfect kind of morsel they'd add to GT5 at this point. They'd probably want to save big & complex tracks like Bathurst for GT6.

Personally I doubt GT6 will even be on PS3, with a PS4 coming in a couple years. Maybe they'll actually be able to release it early in the console's lifecycle this time.
