James, nice job on the lap and the video.

Are you using the Hauppauge HD PVR? Are you thinking about live streaming a few races? I've got that same PVR and I just have to figure out how to set up the audio over the stream so I can give it a go. Last time I attempted it I just couldn't get the audio to work.

Only problem with your streams would be we'd have keep looking in the rear view mirror to see any other cars. My streams won't have that issue. :sly:

Cheers mate.. Yep I bought a Hauppage bout a year ago now, but it just sat in cupboard and I never actually used it until now. I'm not gonna be doing any live streaming, think I'm gonna leave that up to speedy to carry on doing the good he is doing. I will be just mainly recording the races from my bumper cam and then posting them here for people to watch if they want to. With regards to live steaming I wouldnt know where to start :dunce:

Decided to go through the licences finally and get my full house of 60 golds then came across this one. IB-1 with the Nissan GTR V-spec. They have patched it so that you cant use ABS and found it a struggle, so decided to try something I had seen on youtube, managed to get the job done and the gold with some tricks. Brake Balance 2/1, slight handbrake use at the end and wall :sly:

GT5 - IB-1 Licence - ABS OFF Patch - 14.566

:D i did something like that back in GT4 i think, didnt know its now ABS off :scared: Probably make it a lot more tricky to manage gold.

Yep, I found this way the only way I could achieve the gold, so thought why not :sly: There is another annoying patch on the Nascar Advanced special events, where you can't turn off ASM or ABS which just leaves you too slow round the corners to slip stream any of the cars, so I can't gold any of them which is slighty annoying. :indiff:

I love this in car view for replays, just thought i'd share that :sly:

Can ya guess the track? it's an easy one

When I did it (Although Im not sure with a PVR) it's just downloading procaster and then recording to a linked account to one of the livestreamed areas :). My capture card counts as it's own camera so it shows up in the menu I would assume the PVR does something similar! I know I'm going to get back livestreaming once I move as I won't have to switch inputs to my monitor and I can have it all linked up again :D! If you do decide you want to give us a shout if you want a hand and I'll see if I can help!

Well... I can never seem to put my car in your videos, but at least my voice made a few cameo appearances

Too bad you hadn't been streaming when I was on your bumper for those initial 8 laps at Monza. I would have liked to see how often you looked back to see where I was. :sly:

I'll have to study your approach to that final chicane as I lost tons of time to you there every practice lap (based on the splits).

Great race James and congratz on another win. 👍

We've got to get Wes and T-L to join us again so there'll be more action from other cars on your screen.

Nice work, as always, James :)

Do you race with HDMI and just use the Component for playback/recording of replays?

I just use the component cable with Hauppage HD PVR, unfortunatley you cant use the HDMI cable with a Hauppage :(

You cant record 1080p for ps3 anyway, and 720p is enought for youtube :)

Maybe I wasn't clear, but I still got my answer: do you race "through" the Hauppage normally or only use the Hauppage for recording replays after racing. The answer seems to be "normally".

My idea was to race through the HDMI then plug in the Hauppage in component (HDMI now disconnected) and record the replays for upload. But that seems quite a PITA.

Ah yes, I always have the Hauppage Running when my PS3 is turn on, so yup I race with the component cable in. Saves me changing the cable everytime I want to record something

Yeah i keep switching the cables for replay uploading, its definatly a pita, might do the same and just use components, its not too bad on 1080i. :)

I switch back and forth also and it's definitely a pain. Might be just my screen, but it doesn't look nearly as good in 1080i or 720p, something to do with the processing on my set I think. The only time I'll drive in non 1080p is if I want to live stream.

Yeah, may be just knowing its not at ''optimum'' quality annoys me lol even if i dont see that much difference...

I honestly dont notice any difference really between the component and HDMI cables, maybe using the component cable makes the picture a shade darker, just slighty.
