hi
i would like some help about tyres, which one is best for endurance race.
I drive a Audi R10 as got the Racing super soft on.
help me, I'm not a N00b.

I think you're a wee bit confused. The R10 isn't in GT4. I presume you mean the racing R8?

Supersofts will only last a few laps at most tracks. For an endurance race, you would be better using harder tyres so you don't have to pit as much.

You sound abit n00b-ish ;)

Only kidding.

Heres how tyres work.

Racing super soft - these tyres give maximum grip but no endurance.

racing soft - these give great grip but not very good endurance.

racing mediums - good grip, with good endurance.

racing hard - these tyres sacrifice grip for the sake of endurance.

racing super hard - very little grip, but phenomenal endurance.

Selecting mediums, or hard tyres will make the car a little slower, but the tyres wont wearout so quickly. Best bet is racing mediums. When you enter for your final pitstop, switch to softs.

Nah, the R8 should be able to stretch fuel far enough to run R1s.

Ideally, you want your tires to drop off in grip just as you'd pit for fuel normally without worrying about tire wear. You also may want to mix front and rear tire types to equalize wear.

hi thanks for the help.
I know at the my Audi is call R8 but it is a mistake. the race car as Tom K. is driving name is Audi R10 and not Audi R8...

Right, Audi's CURRENT LMP1 car is called the R10. However, it is indeed the R8 that is in Gran Turismo 4.

Racing super hard (R1).
If its sports tires only then Sports hard(s1)

Not all the time though, as I said.

Most LMPs guzzle fuel at a rate so horrendous that you can run R2s and occasionally R3s and still have to pit for tires first.

I usually run R2s front and rear, or R2s up front and R1s on the rear, it depends on whether I have a turbo on my 787B or not.

Your right, I guess ill put R2s on my ride for the next endo I do.

Not if it's a street car though...

All you can really do is test, test, and test.

If your tires are outlasting fuel, go softer. If your fuel is outlasting your tires by a good margin, go to harder tires if possible.

I'll keep that in mind. Also im about to open a garage because I thing ive got down that does what,my first car will be a Shelby Series 1 Super Charged and I'd like you to try it once i make the garage in a few mins.
