Hi,

if this has been covered I apologize, I tried the search but did not find an answer.

I've unlocked the endurance level in A-spec, and want to give the first race a try with a car similar to the midfield AI for that race.

I was wondering if there is any way of knowing what tyres AI is using. I'm guessing this will be important when it comes to pit strategy.

Can you perhaps see this at the starting grid on the side of the tyres ? Or any way else ?

I guess i could find out by just racing and seeing when they pit the first time, but if I could know in advance it would be better.

greetings

I've just finished the first endurance and it seems that Racing Soft last the longest out of all the racing tyres :S

I'd say that the rest of the field are on racing hard / medium, not sure which though. That was just from observing the cars as they all shot past me whilst I did 45mph for the last half a lap as I was almost out of fuel and the game enforced that speed limit :P

I used the Mazda Furai for this race, and I didn't get bored once during the 60 laps!

From what I saw during the race though, everyone was pitting at different times so I don't think your tyre choice will make a huge amount of difference, as said above though, racing soft's seemed to last longest out of the three racing tyres so maybe race with racing hards and see how you go?

You can just start the race and then end it after 1-2 rounds. I think it's possible to switch to AI cars in the replay and there you may see what tires they are using. It definitely is possible on B-Spec replays. Haven't done it yet with A-Spech ones.

I'll give that replay thing a go, looks like the way to find out thanks.

I did also notice that racing hard tyres wear down quicker than racing softs ??

Don't know about GT5 but hard compound can wear down faster than softer compounds if they can't reach their optimal temperatures. Tires slipping will increase the wear.
