Tyres. What to use?

Hey. I'm no specialist at this type of thing, all I know is how to drive a car, in real life and in-game -_-

Well, for starters, if I'm driving on Snow, I'll obviously use Snow Tyres, same for Dirt -- Dirt Tyres and for Rain, you guessed it, Rain Tyres.

So, if I'm driving on road, what do I use, Racing or Sports Tyres?

Would love some info and not just what type.

PS. Right now I'm using a fully tunned GT-R SPECV '09 with Medium Racing Tyres. I'm asking help because I'm just not fully sure so any help would be lovely, ta.
 
I´d say racing, since it felt like the best choice in GT4 for me.
There appears to be no tire wear in GT5, so there is no point not to go with the soft ones (Am I right?).

no, there is tire wear, but its not enough to consider what tires you need. Same with fuel. I made an oval track in course creator and played in it for 50 (!) laps and it was only then were the tires started to give way, and the tires where more then halfway depleted. Also, my car started to end up with HUGE scratch marks because i kept grinding against the wall lol.

Ok, I´ve only driven 5-lap races :P
 
I tend to change tires depending on the power of the car. If it's not that powerful, comfort tires are soft but as it gets more powerful, you'll need to switch up to sports and racing tires. There's no point going out of your way to get racing tires on every car you use if sports or comfort tires will get the job done.
