Awesome. There were actually two six wheeled F1 cars made by two different teams. One had its two extra wheels at the front, for steering, and the other had them at the back, to get more power down to the road. A friend of mine worked as a mechanic with one of the teams while they were developing them.

There were actually three six wheel F1 cars - the others were by March and also Williams. This is the March at Goodwood recently.

and the Williams.

Cool, I didn't know there were three built. My friend worked on the Williams one.

Wow, that's a great video. Hard to tell if the car is understeering, or if that's just the way the front tires worked.

If this car were in GT it would be 6WD.

Great stuff. I wonder how the suspension setup would work on gt.
The setup of the suspension is that the front anti-roll bars and toe did not exist, so the tires do not touch ... but dampers, ride height, camber setup will be the front .. a suggestion.

Someone better tell them that the 4 wheels are on the place... :D

I LOVE these old 70s-80s era F1 cars. There was alot of experimentation going on, both on suspension and aero.

There's just one thing I'm wondering about. Do these old F1 cars fall under the exclusive F1 license held by Codemasters? As far as I know there was a bit of back and forth between Bernie and PD to get the license for Sennas Lotus.
