the fastest way to refresh the UCD is to go to licences, enter the first one, dont start it, just select "next test" until you're at #6 (each test advances the game by one day - 6 cars per day), then exit... UCD is now refreshed

I am the worst googler ever. Thanks for the info, and to the other guy who brought it down to race #5. Still, I need tot rubber band Indy for a while longer as I need the Cr. To pay for all this buying.

Be assured, I will be using your info soon.

Thanks to all for keeping this a lively and helpful conversation.

Actually to refresh UCD just go to any a-spec race, start, before the race countdown begins, exit .... repeat 5 times. Takes about 1 minute!

This is awesome if it works! I used to skip licenses to refresh the ucd! 👍

I wish that there were a "Trash" tab along with Premium, Standard, Favourites and Online, so we could move the econotrashboxes there and not have to search through them in the top tabs.

But I don't want to just sell them either, because once in a blue moon I do want to just see how bad a Subaru 360 is, or some seasonal event forces me to drive a Mazda3.

By the way, I wonder just how many times I've missed out on a "must have" car because I did 6 races instead of 5 before checking the UCD! I really don't want to know...

to get a 1000 cars trophy:
1) accumulate around 5mil credits
2) copy game save to USB
3) buy Go Karts till you get 1000 car trophy
4) restore game save from USB

so now you have: Trophy, clean garage and money.

Good idea for the "Trash Tab", I think it's a rather polite way of putting it. If you are not easily offended, check out this very amusing comic comparing the "C" word and small, miserable cars. (my wife thought it was cute, so it cannot be that offensive) http://theoatmeal.com/comics/c_word

About missing cars, I like to think of the UCD as a box and the "must have" car is Shrodinger's Cat, or perhaps the refrigerator light (always on?) for the less cerebral among us. In other words, you didn't really miss it as it wasn't there until you looked. Maybe this deserves another thread...

It would work also for the licence tests to cycle, but it's more efficient to start any race, since you can immediately start it over after exiting, where at the licences, they all have loading sequences. tup

I'm also currently collecting all the models. It's actually not that easy to come up with an algorithm that will not let you miss some of the cars, if you're trying (like I'm doing) to make engine and chassis restoration for all the UCD-cars you buy as well.

My modus operandi was this:

1) Get as much cash as possible before you start.

2) Buy all street cars (i.e. non race-cars) from the Premium Dealership (you will not have enough money to do that, but with the exception of the Miura and maybe the Citroen GT's, that will be enough.

3) Now you start buying all street cars from the UCD. To be able to do this without letting some slip through your fingers, you need a lot of cash per race, so that means b-spec Dream Car Championship is your best bet as it offers the best per race output besides a-spec endurance races, and that would be too gruelling. And even with that, you will be close to bankrupt some of the time. You can save some of the engine/chassis refurbishment for later, if you're short on cash. If you don't restore all cars to prime condition, the money should be plenty and you should be able to even save some cash in the process.

4) The more cars you have, the more cash you will be able to save after each Dream Car Championship and eventually you'll get there getting them all.

I'm still missing about 10-15 non-race cars (NSX-R Road Version, where are you??, Ford GT '02 anyone??), so I can start now with the race cars, which appear much less frequently anyway, so I hope I'll be able to buy them when they come along. I'll probably have to do that in steps though as well. (Buying all below 500,000, then below 1,000,000, etc.)

I'm at 903 cars total now, with about 50 duplicates, so still quite a way to go.

I know, it's madness, but all collecting is. Not doing it for the trophy though, but, when I'm finished, I'll start testing each and every one of them. So, it's for a good cause! ;-)

Same here. Got a quite similar system running.

I've all the standard cars already, just collecting money for a few premiums left.

By the way, greetings from a neighbour, since I'm from Hungary :)

Well said.

For that matter, playing a video game for hours in any manner is madness when you consider what else you could be doing. Excuse me, I'm gonna go find my wife...

.. Excuse me, I'm gonna go find my wife...

Hope it is not too late :D

Anyway, I also started buying up everything in UCD and decided to time it for kicks. As it turns out, it takes about 40 sec for the whole process. So, to buy the 1100 or so cars in this game requires about 12 hours total.

So, you are right. It is the third longest endurance :boggled:

This is not counting the time that takes to cycle the UCD or the time for certain cars to to turn up. With that, it could take years.

I had to laugh on this one, buddy. But wait, I'm sure I wasn´t living alone before GT5 released, either :)))))

Sounds about right. I had 250 some cars I think, then spent an hour or so a day cycling the UCD to get anything under $20k...took about two weeks.

I understand your frustration, I've spent literally over 50 hours sitting at the UCD and refreshing it and I still don't have every car 👎 I have about 23 or so by my estimates.

Thank GOD they at least gave us check marks now! But I haven't owned every car in a GT game since GT1 and I'd like to do it now. I guess I will eventually, but why can't they just give us a 'Recycle UCD' button?

I have been trying to find the Stupid Saleen S7 for weeks now. When I didn't have the money, I would see it almost every ohter day. Now that I have the money for it, I can't find it anywhere. I'm ready to give up trying to get it.

if it's under $1M i'll give it to you the next time I'm on my ps3 (might be monday). friend me

yup, you got it, the real prob with GT5 isnt getting enough money per race or unit of time but rather dealing with the demands of the UCD and to a lesser extent, the OCD which can suck up money faster than anything including glitching can earn.
I'm going easy on myself as my goal is only to have all the race cars...maybe after that I'll pick another classification to collect
Currently at 230 cars, hoping to have all race iron by 300 cars, as I'll probably also end up with trash cars too.

I used to A-spec autogrind/Remote Race all day and check UCD at the end of the day...trust me it gets even more frustrating when you reach over 800 cars as 90%+ of the cars refreshed you already own...

I've been doing this for probably over 2-3 months now and I'm at 942 cars the last time I check with roughly 10 dupes..I figure the last 60+ cars will take another month or so
