Yes, it's finally here but I was just wondering, why did GT4:P take so long to get over to Europe? It was only a few months ago that Polyphony Digital exclaimed that it was not going to be released in Europe, so what decided to change there mind? i am not complaining as I have my preorder in, and I really can't wait to see what al this hype is about! :banghead:

It comes to AUS next friday damn it, I think they decided to release the PAL GT4:P because of more GT4 release delays and people are becoming impatient. Dont know why they dont release it in the US?

Yeh, u would have thought the American market would be huge and they would make loads of money. Do you know in Aus if they are only releasing a limited number? They are in the UK and that is why I stuck a pre-order in, i think they jus want to hype it up a bit more in the UK by using limited copies!
But im still looking forward to it!

Well GT4p was only ever meant to be a Showcase for the Asia market, that was forced to be put out to please fans who were expecting Gt4 by last xmas. It was designed to show the progression of the main title, but as such it was just a teaser trailer.

Then things in GT4 began to slip from late spring release, to late summer, to xmas 2004 so Pd have decided to let europe get the teaser as well to keep die hard fans happy, of course then europe had to code prologue.

Not quite sure why U.S market isnt getting it as yet.

Edit:? it is limited copy, because it is not a game, it is a demo, it will not be marketed in the same way as a full game and will only be available for a limited period.

I saw it advertised for $35, far more affordable than I expected. I'll actually look at getting it in that case, particularly as my parents are going away for 4 weeks on Monday :D

Yeh, i mean it is virtually an enlargened demo! And if you think for £25(Uk release price) it is quite expensive, if you compare it to the real game

Prologue: Around 60 cars
GT4:At least 500 cars

Prologue:5 tracks, i think
GT4: 100 tracks

And a host of loads of other features including the newly announced photography mode, announced on 15may 2004 by KY

but at least it will keep most fans happy for the 6 months until is's due!

I'm assuming in the photography mode when you print you can use any printer? I think in one of the vids I saw and epson 1280 so I'm ok if that's so.

All I have heard from photography mode is the fact you can go through replays and take snapshots using different lenses, while adding effects like blur and many more. All of your pictures will be able to be saved to memory card, and i dont have a clue about the printer bit.It would b nice to see tho!

Subject: Stock Enquiry

Hiya, I have a quick question about the Playstation 2 title Gran Turismo
4 Prologue. It's going to be pretty limited, and most Game stores will
only hold one or two copies of the game, have you got limited stock and
is there any chance of me grabbing a copy before they sell out?

Thanks,

- Dan.

Hi there,

This item is due for release on 28/05/2004. We hope to receive a lot of stock a couple of days before the release date so we can get the item out to you in time for the release date.

Kind regards

Play

ROCK ON!

Yep, ordered my XPort and some other stuff from them Wednesday at 3pm. Came Thursday morning at 9am. Brilliant service. Going by the time it took them to deliver my previous order, hopefully I get it a day early :P

One of the things they mentioned whilst unveiling Photo Mode was that you could connect any USB printer to the PS2 and print out your pictures. Just how many printers PD manages to cater for I'm unsure because I don't know how well they'd all cope with generic drivers, but they may be able to do it.

You can get printers that can print direct from a digital camera. Probably if your printer can do that, then you'll be OK.

Just preordered mine now. Going on fricking holiday on friday though so won't really get to play the game for about a week! D'oh

I am but only when I see a cheap secondhand copy and if theres more than 2 months left till GT4.

What about the Making off DVD?!
we get one i guess in europe?

i allready have Prologue (Japanese) and i know the euro version is almost the same :( so no need to get it actualy.. i only buy it if you get a nice Making off DVD with it..

You'll get the extra DVD with it but all the vids on that will appear here in no time now it's out.

I panicked after seeing this thread, and phoned a friend in a games shop to check it hadn't been released early. He said it was still to be released on 28th.

Though he may have it 2-3 days early. So fingers crossed.:)

I've also orderd it from play.com

only downside is the usualy take about 7 workdays to ship to my door :(
Last time, I orderd Toca Race Driver 2 on friday, 1,5 week later, on thuesday, I got it :(

Camera to printer deals are generally only one manufacturer, ie, a Canon camera will print to a Canon printer happily, because they both use the same proprietary driverset native to the manufacturer's product.

I'm still tossing up as to whether Prologue's worth it, but I think I'm just going to wait it out and enjoy GT4 when it gets here.

It is coming out on friday for NZ$70 over here which is a bit of a rip considering when GT4 comes ou it will be $110.

I'll have to pay $50 then as i paid $20 as a pre-order deposit thingy (at Central Park Interactive).

Good to see another Dunedinite on the boards. :)

Yeh, i still agree with the fact dat da price is ridiculous considering it is only an "expanded demo". What else do all u lot believe they should add to make it worth the £25 price tag they are putting on it?
I believe they should include a smaller version of the afformentioned photography mode, and possibly around 40 more cars. To give a better feel to what kind of features will be available, caus i hve heard the prologue is pretty much limited!
