It's approaching a few months until the next UKGTP, so let's get some interest going, because I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms ;)

I believe I heard the date was the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in May. 23rd-25th May
Location will probably be the same as the Dixie, that probably isn't optional!

Just checked the dates for the T20 (I'm doing work experience at Sussex CCC) and there isn't a home game till the 28th May, so I should be okay for the 3 days of this.

I have started to look at some things for me to do.

I think there was a request of a home-made massive Pink Fancy. I will also do Shortbread (obviously) and a chocolate log may go down well with the lady of the household.

:)

Going to be there (and kipping at):
Venari (Casa Famcubicle)
Famine (Casa Famcubicle)
Daan (Casa Famcubicle)
Sureshot (Casa Famcubicle)
Roo (Casa Famcubicle)
homeforsummer (Local village for local people)
BlackSheep (Caff'n'Tig)
Tig (Caff'n'Tig)
Mark T (?)

Guard Dog Guard
Milford_Cubicle
Mrs_Doyle
Not Mrs Mark T

Interested/pending circumstances:
marky264
The Grim Reaper

Awkward Honda Drivers:
VEXD

Equipment
11 x PS2
7 x wheels
11 x GT4
11 x DS2
8 x Memory Card
2 x Scart cables (with Scart adaptors) (everyone has these, no point putting them on the list really)
11 x TV (LCD x 7, i think, CRT x 4)
4 x four way adaptors

Only 4 months to go! Is this still going to be held at Famine's and Milford Cubicle's garage?

I've been to every UKGTP, and I'm not about to quit now.

Count me in. 👍

I'm not going to be able to attend this one either. Still struggling!

I don't want to ruin the atmosphere.

You spelt Sure-tbread wrong.

As ever, my participation will be subject to change until the day.

Unless I'm banned from these things for fear of canine health repercussions.

:irked:👍

No, she's big enough to eat you now. By May, I dread to think how big she'll be...

She even scared off two adult male Staffordshire bull terriers the other day...

Events mostly organised.

This time, the memory stick comes with me, along with a laptop with some sensible software on.

Sorry guys, I can't find the Dixie results. I looked down the back of the sofa, under the carpet, everywhere. Gone. :(

I'm a newbie to this part of the forum! lol So basicaly whats the lowdown? Can any GTP Member go? Am I allowed to come pweety pwease!

I would love to attend one of these events, looks like you guys have alot of fun and it would be good to meet some of the names that I come across here at GTP.

Everyone's welcome. Bear in mind that this event will:

Take up three days of your time (and probably a day travelling either side)
Be in the north-east of England

All you need is to spare the time, money for lodgings (we've a couple of local hostelries suited for the task), be willing to travel and provide a small donation of food and/or drink. Oh, and bring along equipment (consoles, games, memory cards, pads/wheels and, if you have 'em, TVs). We'll provide the venue and electricity and a Venari will supply the races.

If that's all fine by you, stick your name down and clear your schedule ;)

Flat screen TV's too. I don't think world has enough gaffa tape otherwise. I've been bribing you lot with "donations of food" for every event iirc.:D

Thinking about it, I should probably indicate my willingness to attend.

I do.

Shall I bring some white paint with me this time? Duct tape does terrible things to garage walls. I'm only half kidding.

There's one 5 minutes walk or 1 minute drive from here, stayed in by several Dixie attenders. I would suggest booking early though, as the spring BH is going to be popular for tourists coming to this area. If you require the number, then contact me.
Some of the attenders of the Dixie left it almost too late, they were lucky regarding the time of year that they were able to get a room there. I will warn you now, leave it too late to book and you may discover there's no rooms available. Which means lots of you will be sleeping in your cars! And, as far as I'm aware, there is one single other place you can book a room in our town which is 2 mins drive/10 mins walk. Otherwise, you'll be going to one or the other next towns which are 10 mins drive/45 mins walk!

There's a fair chance we'll have no grass by then, so camping in the garden is also a no I'm afraid unless you have a pop-up tent and a blow-up bed!

As a final note: we do have space for three people to sleep here. However, in the interests of fairness if you want to be considered for one of the three spots (they're not glamorous by any means, they'll be a blow-up mattress or camp-bed and you'll be sharing with 2 others) then PM me and I'll draw names from a hat closer to the time. In the meantime, even if you do wish to be considered for a sleeping space here, assume that you need to stay in one of the B&Bs and make your booking in case you're not successful in the name/hat interface! Also, if you like your comfort/privacy/breakfast then I'd not recommend staying at ours
And, bear in mind that we have a cat and a dog. If you have allergies or really don't like being licked to death by a mental Black Labrador who will be fully grown by then (and still a puppy) then I'd advise giving us a miss!

I am not going to repeat myself with this like last time. And I am not going to pay any attention to people taking offence because they've been told no, they can't sleep here. At the end of the day, it's our house. We pay the mortgage and bills so we have the final say. Yes, I'm being arsey but I'm female and it's my job ;)

You can put me down as 'interested', as I can't think of anything that I'm doing instead on those days. Depends on whether I pass my test by then, of course ;)

I haven't got a networkable PS2, though, bear in mind.

Roo
Three people on a camp bed is going to be a bit cosy, isn't it?
You'll be sharing the room with two others.

Pedants not welcome, so that's you out, Roo...

;)

You can provisionally put me on the list. I should be able to make it along for more than just one day this time.

Put me on the list for now, please. The Fiat 500 fun run is taking place near the date so I'll have to see how my cashflow is holding up.

I am interested! Still! Though my attendance is likely to be confirmed nearer the date. Technically, that bank holiday weekend falls exactly in the middle of what I believe to be exam time. I don't actually know if I have any exams in that period but this is something I intend to find out...

Nein for me. It's slap bang in the middle of exam time.

Thought so!

I might be lucky enough to not have exams though, as my course seems to be assessed exclusively through essays.

Hoping I have a new car by then, though.
