Hello guys, results and Photos here!

I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves, and congratulations to homeforsummer on his 'Driver of the Event' award which was pretty much unanimous. We look forward to welcoming you back again, hfs.

It took us a little while to get going, and as MC said 'frazzled' just about covers it! I'm going to have to come up with an idea which allows less chair swapping - as it did get a bit frantic at times. I'll have to think about that...

I am quietly pleased that the 'Pick Your Own' worked so well, it was fairly obvious that there were 'cars to have', but I had a lot of fun with some Tiff Needell-esque drifts in the peppy ProtoMotors Spirra. The Motorland race was such immense fun, as I suspected it might be, that it was worth everyone's cry of "WHAT!" when I announced it. :D The fact that we didn't run a single Pick'n'Mix event suggests how wacky the event was.

Equally mad stuff for 'The Elf' guaranteed, but in order to bookend 'The Dixie', i have to sort out some results. Give me a little while, guys, I have another busy week coming up, but i'll get to it as soon as I am able.

Cheers for turning up and laughing with me (and not at me... much) and see you all again soon.

V.

Saturday placekeeper.

It was noted how you sent Blacksheep in for the paperwork and didn't pick it up yourself :)

Photos to come, they're uploading at the mo.

Edit: here.

Yeah, V, we were laughing at you but you've probably forgotten... :trouble:

I didn't take that many photos, but here they are.

Summary:

Thanks to Roo for the lift there and back, much appreciated. Thanks to our hosts (and killer animals!) for the use of the garage and house facilities. Thanks to Mark for organising it and forgetting everything and the special privilige. Also, a sorry for my hyper-aggressive driving throughout the first half of Saturday, it wasn't sporting and it won't happen at the Elf.

Nice to see all the old faces and some new ones too. homeforsummer is one quick guy and fully deserving of driver of the LAN for his driving ettiquette, he seemed to be on the end of my driving so apologies for that and hope to see you at the Elf. Likewise with Tig, with full vocabulary on board no doubt!

Hope to see you all in 7 months time. Sleepwalking dog and all!

I got home at 7:30PM. 8 hours in a car is not fun! Though the lolvo is quite a good cruiser.

Nice photos so far guys, the Aston looks gorgeous and I'm glad someone got a photo while I was in the lead of at least one race ;) Definitely looking forward to seeing the videos though!

EDIT: Oh, and while I remember: Big thankyou to everyone voting me driver of the LAN! Really appreciate it and it was a great laugh meeting and racing with you guys. I'll definitely be back for the Elf and ideally for both days this time too!

As I mentioned in the other (now closed) thread, the best battles had to be the Charger one with Famine and the hilarious battle with Daan and Sureshot at Trial Mountain... one day I'll not hit that rock as I'm driving through that section...

You only hit it 5 out of the 7 laps.... 💡

I've just watched the video of that race. The sound is out of sync, as it is with all my videos :grumpy:, but you can just make your own when watching it.

You's did look like you's were having fun :D

See. It truly is a lolvo

Five out of seven... hmm, there's room for improvement...

I think that race was recorded on Famine's recording device too, a few of the races were recorded on both. So there might be a version with the sound in sync. Looking forward to seeing them all anyway though, there's some cracking racing captured on there.

Im loving the pix....

Especially the ones with Sureboss in them.

Im loving the ones with my bald spots in slightly less though. :grumpy:

I'd like to publicly thank everyone for a great weekend, during which we all learned some valuable lessons I feel, including puppy handling etiquette, French fancy handling etiquette, spinning off whilst in the lead at suzuka entirely under your own steam handling etiquette, tyre degradation handling etiquette, and broken DFP pedalbox handling etiquette.

Many thanx go to V. for arranging everything, then forgetting to bring everything he'd arranged with him, but still giving us all a good selection of races that began with "What car???!!!!?, What track???!!!?? Are you completely insane man???!!!?" but ended up being fun.

Uber thanx go to Famine and Milford for painting everything perple, and putting up with me and the rest of us for the weekend.

Thanx also to:

HoldenHSVsummat for letting me rant on half the night after too much whiskey.

Roo for bringing the concept of proper sized French fancies into my life.

V for outsmarting the traction control on the seafront. :D

Tig for not climbing over people to sort me out after I loudly proclaimed all american cars to be excrement, or something. :odd: Not to mention making our tyres last 14 laps in the enduro. Oh wait, I just mentioned that.

Blacksheep for ignoring the Christian Bale-alike comments, and me calling him "Sheep" all weekend.

Cath for the sandwiches.

Indigo for not getting concussion.

Daan for speaking a version of Scottish I understand.

Suredudewhatever for making Sure-tbread (see what i did there) and generally being himself all weekend, which always makes me laugh.

Of course, Famine and Milford C for hosting the event superbly, and for putting up with a disgruntled old fart like me, even after I tried to kill their puppy.

And finally; HomeForSummer, who gave me some good challenges in the races we ran against each other, and offered Dutcho-style levels of racing etiquette, all day long. 👍

I'd just like to say how worthy Sureshot is of the trophy this time round too.
I vaguely remember saying something to Holden on saturday night about how much you've come on at GT4 since I've known you, and the difference has become extremely apparent this weekend. I'm not trying to say you were crap when you started attending, merely that you are now of a very high racing standard, as this event has proven, and your consistency in lapping cleanly is both inspiring and frustrating, depending on your viewpoint, or current race position. :)
There were a couple of times when you may have taken an advantage from contact on an apex, but that is racing, you got as good as you gave, and you've made a mental note, I'm sure of it.
I look forward to trying my skills (and patience) against you in the future mate, Well done 👍 [/asskissing]

Right, I've done enough ranting. I'll go upload my pix......

Judging by my expression in most of the ones above, it appears I am still VEXD.

:irked:👍

He's wearing perple, and driving perple, and turning perple.

Is that wrong?

Oh look. I have an Aston on my drive.

I had Indy out the front on Sunday night, so she could do her business and a guy wandered past, I vaguely recognise him as being someone who lives a few doors away. He says to me: "That was a gorgeous car you had on your drive over the weekend!!!!!!!!"
I just waved my hand dismissively and said "Ah, it belongs to a friend. He has to drive them for a living." His eyes almost popped out, I was half expecting to pick them up off the floor

Looks like you guys had a great time. :)👍

You need to swing by one of these days and experience it first hand...

I have some photos from Caff & Tig to post up, which I shall do presently :D

including puppy handling etiquette

Lucky that Labrador puppies bounce, isn't it? ;)

Roo for bringing the concept of proper sized French fancies into my life.

Super-size homemade French Fancy for the Elf?

Daan for speaking a version of Scottish I understand.

There's been a murder!

I was amazed that I beat Famine by 17 points in the Dutcho, yet he must have had about 10 fastest laps to my one fastest lap! Always enjoyable to race against you VEXD, hopefully we'll lock horns at the Elf, with Southern Comfort mixers 'n'all.

one day I'll not hit that rock as I'm driving through that section...

It was almost ritualistic. The pacecar start at Fuji is something we'll have to do again, possible with five cars across that straight, I think it's wide enough. That was brilliant!

it was a pity to miss this lan :grumpy: and a look round the famine/milf pad, but as usual it seems you all had a great time.
will make sure i don't miss the next one for sure! 👍

Hi Guys and Gals.
Just like to say thanks to everyone who was at the Dixie, the flag was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the weekend, had a laugh and hopefully I didn't get in the way of you all too much.
Cath is bidding on a PS2 with lots of GT games included, since I need the practice.
Thanks again.
Tig

Got him hooked. This is both good and bad in equal measure. :D

Yes, there are silver fattie PS2s. I know, because I have one. :D

You saw the fat silver PS2 in that picture, but not the one underneath that? Really?

Also... YAY! It's Tig! :D

Looks like it was a great time had by all! When you are guys gonna come race with us across the pwnd pond? Excellent setup you have there, we'll be sure to give Nick the appropriate lashing for not keeping up with you :P

Jerome

It's time you changed your avatar Sure-tbread....

Maybe one of those double chin shots would look good.

Or the one of your hands on a certain trophy.......

:trouble:👍
