Ultimate sleeper

man, thats awesome! Could you imagine taking off from the lights in a 'Stang, or 'Vette or similar, and seeing nothing but mini-van taillights? Red face and an ad in the local trader!

I don't know if I want the ultimate sleeper at any costs tbh :D ... Actually not... Also don't forget that beating an Evo 8 ( as described on the website ) on a quartermile is nothing special. Beat him on the track. I want to see that. Not with that van... At least not without gigantic mods....But then I simply put 5k $ into the Evo and it will be faster again.

So nice find Raghavan, just not my thing though...

There are plenty of sleepers i've seen that are worthy of a look or two...

For example, a 'Mclaren-beating' Civic...

Notice that there are quotes around ''mclaren beating''. We can imply from this that maybe GT was being sarcastic, or he has heard this claim but is skeptical. However, it is possible to beat a McLaren with a Civic. But that would most likely need *some* aero mods, and would look nothing like a sleeper, but more a (albeit very very fast) piece of rice. It would probably start flying, dying, or disintegrateing over 180 mph any other way.

I'm told that the fastest FWD, wheel-driven 1/4 mile car is an 8 second Civic...

Anyway, for sleeperiness, I vote for the Fensport Corolla.

Almost completely ordinary from the outside. Maybe you'll spot the different alloys and you might even notice the Blitz lettering indicating an intercooler... But at quick first glance, it's a Corolla. Alongside you at the lights it's certainly a Corolla...

What the...?

"2.1L TURBO, 4 WHEEL DRIVE with a 650+BHP 3SGTE ENGINE
27th April 2005 - 200.4mph from a standing start in 1.25 miles
9th October 2005 - 10.39 second quarter at 137mph"

Yeah you could beat a McLaren in a havilly, heabilly modified Civic in a 1/4 drag race perhaps, but never on a track, there's just no way to get a car like a Civic to corner as fast.

Yes what he said^^
Anyway, I want that Crolla! Smoke the Carrera GTs! And take 4 people along for the ride, not just one or two!

I saw that Corolla on a 5th gear episode while they were trying the Vmax the Esprit, that Corolla broke its gearbox while trying to beat 200mph again from memory.

Naw, those other cars are known for having SOME performance. Therefore, they're not too sleepy, since you expect that sort of thing when modded. The Dodge Caravan Turbo HAS to be the ultimate sleeper. Especially if you get one with the tin faux-wood trim.

How about some of the 1987 Nissan Pickups

2.4l TURBO! 4-cyl.

Muddin' Made Easy.....lol

Again, some pre-conceived notion of performance. Mini-trucking is pretty popular anyways.

You're kidding, right? 90% of the '02+ Corolla range doesn't get anywhere near 10s for a 0-60mph time. The supercharged T-sport model is a little different, but it's also a 3-door... For a 5-door Corolla to turn in C6 Z06 1/4 mile times is staggering.

Is that with the roof on or off? :sly:

I like that Corolla, it looks very stock except for the minor visible modifications. Im not sure I would pimp out the Caravan, although according to another thread, because an Aerostar can beat a SHO Taurus, the two vans racing together may be a good match. :sly:

Damn, im on a roll today. :sly:

The Caravan turbos are ruined for anyone who knows even a little bit about sleepers, they're too common, seen 'em a million times. Around here, we've got a modified Spirit R/T, although it's got a loud BOV so it's ruined, and a '93 Legacy with a JDM WRX STi long block that blazes out sub-8 second 1/8th mile passes, looks ratty as hell, and spews coolant all over the place for better effect. I even know a guy with a 550whp (Before the nitrous...) CRX with a carbon fiber hood that he painted flat black to look more like a ricer. The modified F-Body crowd despises him.

Then there's this jerkoff with this blue Cadillac sedan that looks like it's from the 80's, he thinks it's fast but I could beat him in a stock Civic.
