Unable to install parts

I have a car that was race modded a long time ago, and I wanted to upgrade the motor fully today. It says it has Engine Stage 1 already installed, but if I try to install Stage 2 it says they must be done in the correct order. And if I click on Stage 1 again it says it's already installed. Any ideas?
 
That's a bit odd.... maybe you can't further upgrade RM cars (though I don't see why not)?

Maybe just buy the car agin, don't RM it and do a full mod instead?
 
Thought about doing that. I swear I've seen this mentioned elsewhere on this site, just can't remember what anyone said about it though...
 
Do the ferrari seasonal a couple times and buy some more EVOs and mod them anyway you want. Might be some sort of corrupted file for that car or something. Hope it doesn't cause any other problems and enjoy the other cars.

Maybe it can only be upgraded to stage one, but I think it is probably a glitch. You could always just re-buy it. Hope it wasn't an expensive car.
 
If you buy any engine tuning parts before RMing a car, when you do RM it the Engine Tuning goes away even though it says it's already installed, so you cannot put it back on again. Remember this well.
 
Ahh, okay. Thanks for that. Seems like something they would have fixed after 10 patches, because I vaguely remember this happening before to me when the game first came out. Yeah, I'll just rebuild it again, I have like 10 million, but I just used my matte black on it. Someone should gift me one. :r But other than that, this is resolved.
 
Go to your garage, select the car you having trouble with, select settings of that car... And 'Tick' the engine stage 1... Then you can buy stage 2 and 3... Happend to me aswell..
 
You can't "tick" the engine stages as they are irremovable...?

Edit; I was able to click on the part and install it. Odd. Thanks though! Now I can upgrade fully, now this can be closed.
