Unable to install Windows XP SP3

I have been trying to install it for several months now, but it just terminates during installment with a message reading "An intern error has occured"

Any help? Much appreciated 👍

If you are doing a upgrade from online then one of the options left would be to wipe your HDD of windows, start anew, and upgrade online. Though if you have any files you want to keep you better back them up to a external HDD or flash drive if you don't got much to save.

But in the mean time, try burning the CD again at a slower speed and/or different cd's

At what point during install does this happen?

During the initial Blue screen setup, where you select the partition & it copies files to the HDD; or during the second half where it initializes everything and asks for basic info (timezone, networking, user info, etc..)?

Well, when my computer starts up it gives me a message that updates are available. So I clikc it and it starts initializing. Then, a new window pops up saying that it's checking my system or something, so the bar starts filling up. But it's not even halfway when the install or download just terminates...

Oh, you're trying to install sp3 itself.

try downloading the standalone, since automatic updates isn't working.
