you definitely are missing some options..

1) I'm not a completionist - never look at trophys and think XP levels have no place in a racing game or anything presenting itself as a Sim. It is skills based

2) Half the cars are crap I would never want - why would I try to collect them all?

3) Occasionally I race with mates online, when we have the time to arrange a session.

What I want to be able to do is turn it on, enter (or create) an offline race in a car I like to drive and then have a competitive race against really good AI.

I put GT on maybe once every 6 weeks though at the moment.

I am finding f1 2010, shift 2 and Wipeout HD all more capable of providing that experience.

I'm more of a completionist. Final Fantasy has done that to me. Going for every car, however, is not something I do.

That poll is lacking many, many options. But if I were to pick one, I'm a Collector. But really, that poll is very biased.

As 'Drunk' wasn't up there I'd have to say 'None of the above' as these categories are too extreme and pidgeon-hole the player. I like collecting cars but usually crappy and off-beat ones which are a challenge to tune and get right. Anyone can buy an LM racer, fiddle with it and blast around at 200 mph - doesn't really appeal to me. Other than that I just enjoy driving and (sometimes) even winning!:sly:

None of the above.

I have no intension of ever completing the game, especially if endurance race saves are never implemented, and probably not even if they do.

I don't want all the cars and probably haven't driven a third of the ones i do own.

I very rarely drive online.

Can we have another poll option?

👍

An "Other - Please Specify" option would be great.

Yeah, I should have added a ''casual'' category, agreed.

Well, I tend to think I do a bit of everything - I like to collect cars, but I by no means have to have them all; I like to simply test my cars on the Ring, or hotlap other cars on certain tracks and I like to tune closely-competitive sets of cars for online / split-screen. I like to get all Golds on my licenses, but I'll get around to that eventually; same for the special and seasonal events. I love online racing, but generally prefer the "fixed setup" mode with strangers (more cars, please!) - it's more about driving skill that way, which is how I like it (see above about closely-competitive cars).

You're missing a different kind of "hardcoredness": In A-Spec, B-Spec and seasonal events, I try to extract just the right level of challenge to make me work for the win, e.g. by under-tuning the car; this is how I like my online races, too - close, fun etc.
Even when I'm just testing a new car, I'll play around with tyre combinations and brake bias etc. (I drive with no aids, including online) to get the best feel from the car, or rather the combination that best gives the impression of the car's particular characteristics.
Granted, sometimes I just dick around, but who doesn't?

I'm definitely casual in terms of the time I dedicate to the game, yet I approach it from a particular "hardcore" stance when I do play, a stance which isn't represented in this poll - perhaps "The Driver" would cover it?

All of the above!
I love online racing.
I would love to complete GT5 to 100%
I love to buy any car that tickles my fancy, and really that's every car.

"A 40/40 vettle failure but otherwise ok on gold collector who likes all but the smallest japanese/euro boxes"

There, add that to the poll. ;)

I play GT5 for fun, having a great time from tuning my cars to hotlap and/or competing with the CPU racers and my friends online. But I mostly fall into the collectors league, I don't want all the cars because there are a few that I don't want in my main or sub-account:yuck: so I go for cars for their beauty, performance, or their uniqueness, that's you X1! ;)👍

But as fans/enthuiasts of GT5 and the past titles of the series, heck even in NFS and Forza, we may belong in one of the selected catergories, but we are a little bit of them all IMO.

I choose "collector", but im most a "grinder/collector/driver", what i do in all GT series? grind, buy, drive, grind, buy, drive, grind, buy, drive, grind, buy, drive, grind, buy, drive, grind, buy, drive, grind, buy, drive, grind, buy, drive, and so.

I don't do online races because the bandwidth here in Manila sucks. Not unless we all get better internet connection going on here, online racing is pretty much...a frustration. And so with that, I just often find myself doing practice mode on mostly stock cars with Sports Hard tires or less. This i rather find much more enjoyable than completing the game, or going online, or collecting cars. I just try to be faster and faster and beat my own time, Im improving both In the game and in the real world. I love it! It works for me. Its more of the simulation and the physics what I enjoy best. PRACTICE MODE FTW!
