i've been trying my damn hardest to stop the understeer in my S4...i have all the driving aids off and i tried setting the rear lsd's initial tq to 40, and deccel tq to 40, i also have stabalizers set to over steer (5/7)..........my spring rates are set so that the front is higher then the rear but i've pretty much leared that that's how things are done, f>r springrate wise.......so what am i doing wrong? (btw i have all the mods EVAR)

Install the rear wing (@ GT Auto, the last wing on the list) and set @ 28/f, 16/r, reset spring rate to "default", then, lower Ride Height to about 15 above minimum and 1 number higher for rear. It would help if you have custom suspension, then you can set Shock bound 3/f&r, rebound 7/f&r, Camber angle,(6.4/f, 4.2/r +-, toe/in/out -1/f, 0/r, stabilizers 6/f, 5/r. Set TCS/O/U @ 4, ASM @ 5. But it all depends on how much HP you have on the car and the speed entering the corner, tire types etc..?? You may also try adding more weight to the front,(you shouldn't need to) by setting "ballast weight" to about 80 and "front/rear balance @ (minus)- 50, this will add weight to the front. Of course, if you add to much weight on the front, the rear will spin out. Do some testings @ the Driving Park. Try doing chicanes(zig zag) @ different speeds, till you see a steady handling etc.., then, save the game, so you don't have to reset allover. Everybody has a different driving style, so, what works for one, might not work for the other, so, practice and find what works for you and  Have fun!👍
If all fails, install Nitro and use only on the straight:nervous:

stiffer suspension in the rear should help (i think u had it backwards with th stiffer in the front) maybe turn the "understeer" drivers aid to 1.

is it just me or do these settings seem all backwards... It looks like they would induce understeer as opposed to reduce it. Make the stabilizers 1, Weaken the LSD, make the spring rates roughly the same, with the front maybe a tad softer and see how it works. I haven't got my hands on an S4 so that's the best I can tell you. Although I remember my GT3 settings were unconventional so my advice might make it worse lol, just try it out on a new setting tab.

shift the weight to the front by 2-5, along with the other tuning settings in this thread, and make the front power dist. between 15-20.

car will be a little more unstable but understeer issue should be fixed, you can steer with the throttle more becuse its a 4wd car.

turn asm off and when youre in a turn coast with no throttle wait for the front to grab the road(youll be able to tell when the front grab because the nose will angle in towards the apex) then slam the throttle and make the rear end kick out, it wont get out of control but it will let you get around the corner quicker

oh, and i guess i'll apologize now for the cross post...

and now, i refuse to install any of those god awful wings on my cars, and your camber settings seem a little extreme, but i did try most of the other settings and they worked pretty well, just trying to figoure my brakes now.....and btw my car has ~550hp

It`s understandable that you do not want to install the wings, but once you go over 100 mph, you`re gonna need the extra stability from the wing since the car can lose control pretty easily at that point. Esp. with 550 hp, it`s definitely recommended; hell i need t mount a wing on my 320 hp car because it gets unstable once i pass 120 mph.

u could put some negitive toe to make the car more stable. btw if u want a unstable car, try an alfa gta 1600 at 200mph down the big strait at nurbug (200bhp 600kilos) :dunce:

Set the LSD de-acceleration to a lower number. A high setting keeps your speed high in turns. And brake sooner.

it seems when i hit the apex and then mash the trottle i get even more understeer, i only seem to get any form of handling when i lift off the accelerator or brake

I noticed you mentioned your wanting to adjust the breaks now.
If you're understeering badly even if you follow the propper line at a decent speed than maybe you should set the car off balance a bit. Kick the rear end towards the outside and exit strong. In that case you'll need to set your break balance to the rear a bit more. VCD settings are very touchy but if you have enough power to take a semi-drifting approach then set more power to the back, if you feel like breaking early and "gliding" through the apex then then leave your VCD alone and make sure you have enough grip in on the front end to take you around the corners through suspension and downforce settings.

Hope it helps

lol maybe my problem before was that i had the car lowered to 100mm (99 was the minimum), its a 129 now and its not understeering as badly

I've got a S4, wing, with no Nitro. I always put the 4wd controller on it and set the car to very little front drive, maybe only 10%.
