Une Grand Drifto Problemo

Ive got a little problem with drift, ive searched and read the drift faq & guide, didnt find anything relative to it though.

Basically i can get the car to go sideways, i understand the need for throttle control and countersteer, but what i dont get is why i always end up off the bloody track! i try to slow down but then the car doesnt have enough speed to drift and i find i gain traction too easy thus losing the drift, i tried inertia but i still go to slow, i find that this usually only happens with sim tires, with the slicks i dont get as much rear end slippage, someone must have the answer. feedback is appreciated.

Give your car medium tires on front and sim tires on back. You should be start losing traction in 20mph...

do NOT stagger tire softness, that is deffinatly not the way to learn proper drift. your problem with flying off the road is probably because your entry speed is too high for the turn. try going a bit slower..drift aint about speed.

Fient motion. I think you may be trying to use power to loose traction, it works for high HP cars, you should try the fient motion and learn to accell off during the fient to get the suspension to overload.

Lotsa info guys!! I'm also a "beginner-driftee" and I also struggle with keeping the car sideways when turning... I don't have a steering wheel... but I manage to "kinda" drift some cars with the analog... but those where just lucky drifts!!

What im trying to say is.. i know you mean well... but all this talk on how to drift is just to complex... the FAQ xplains it well enough... the rest is all practice.... and that's what I'm doing!!!

hey ethix i think what is needed is some general stuff on what happens when you do what... i do not think i would be good for this tho... i have forgotten... most stuff is just instinctive now...
