I'm curious if this is some I am experiencing (and therefore I need a new controller) or if anyone else is experiencing this (therefore a bug).

My inputs are often accompanied by a delay. I will call for an upshift or downshift and it either never happens or it happens several moments after I've called for it. The same for steering inputs (which is immensely frustrating). The car will either continue to turn even though I am no longer turning, or the turn in is delayed.

It doesn't happen all the time, but it's happening with enough frequency that it's making it extremely frustrating to play.

I am assuming it's just me since I don't see a monumental flame thread on the topic.

Make sure the controller's path to the console isn't blocked by any solid objects as that can cause input delay with the controller.

This. Have had this happen sometimes. Always fixed by making sure the PS4 is facing your way and not blocked. Controllers are also more prone to this behaviour when low on battery, they go into power saving mode and the transmitting strength is weaker.

Hmmm....I am using a reclaimed metal travel trunk as a coffee table now. That could be interfering.

My PS4 is in a storage shelf. Occasionally my controllers will lag as well which I believe it is due to the sensor in the PS4 being blocked by the shelf walls. Backing myself up so there is not as much interference usually fixes this issue.

That being said, I usually play in the same position and the controller does not normally lag; it will only commence once in a while.

My PS is also in a storage shelf behind a fabric ( like the thing on the front of loudspeakers)

But I have not ever had this problem.

Are you sure its not input lag on your TV screen ?

Check that your TV's picture mode is set to gaming ?

I have huge controller lag when my kid sits next to me with his tablet. If I don’t plug the controller in I can’t stay on track when this occurs.

Probably need a new controller. One of my controllers every so often makes the car swerve to the left. I don't use that one.

That's different. What the OP described is exactly what happens with bluetooth interference, especially since he said there's a metal object between him and the console.
