Even a 4WD I would say is borderline, because it's got the ability to pull itself out like a FF, if you mess up a bit.

You can't drift an FF or 4WD car, that's just called powersliding.

Only Rear Wheel Drive cars can drift.

I'd say it's definately drifting, because the car is 'drifting around the corner'. It's not powersliding because the cars power isn't sliding it, it's more the handbrake or setup causing it to slide.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're wrong, powersliding is using the cars power to get the back end to step out, hence why a FF car will never powerslide

It's possible, but it's not "true" drifting. You still have a percentage of help from the front wheels.

Yes, because you still have power going to the front wheels. If we could do 4WD to RWD conversions then it would be a different story.

Drifting isn't as simple as a controlled oversteer.

If you have power that goes to the front of the car, then it isn't true drifting.

The Blitz Skyline is a RWD car just incase you guys didn't know.

Wasn't bad, but took 2 hours of tuning and it was still a crap run.

Drifting to me is intentionally using the power to the rear drive wheels to cause oversteer and having the car go sideways. (usually very sideways)

Powersliding is when you overstep the boundaries of grip and have the whole car sliding sideways. This is often caused by rear rear drive wheels but...

The difference I think is that drifting is speeding up the rear end of the car so it comes around faster than the front where as powersliding is just the whole car traveling at the same speed (but sideways!). Thus, drifting cannot be done with a front wheel drive car.

For an unlikely drift car, I'd say the Honda Odyssey. With 400hp and setting 90% power to the rear, it drifts quite well I think.

IMHO, drifting is using the power of the engine to determine direction. almost all drifting is done with the front wheels at "lock" or fully turned to one side, while using the gas pedal to modulate the direction the car is traveling. more throttle=more rotation. less throttle, less rotation.

edit: drifting in just about any MR car is probably my favorite, just because to drift it you have to be on the ragged edge... any more than that and there she goes. MR drifting takes much much more precision.

Back on topic, drifting Jimmie Johnson's #48 NASCAR fully detuned is quite fun. I've even got a F2007 sideways, and in a controlled drift.
