Unlock Exclusive Special Edition GT-R with New Time Trial Challenge

Starting at 12:01 AM PST on Monday November 21, Gran Turismo 5 players will be able to compete in a special Time Trial Challenge seasonal event, which will unlock a bonus car for use in other modes of the game.

The Gran Turismo 5 Time Trial Challenge takes place on a special Eifel Circuit 105A track designed by Polyphony Digital using the in-game Course Maker mode, and puts players behind the wheel of a Nissan GT-R (car is made available to users who do not have the car in their own garage).

What's more, players can unlock a very special Nissan GT-R for use just by competing in the event. Now is your chance to add a limited edition vehicle, featuring the same design as the Kyosho diecast GT-R Spec V that was available exclusively in the Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition (pictured above), to your collection of cars in Gran Turismo 5. After finishing the special time trial event, you will receive a message to redeem a car ticket at the "Car Delivery" truck on the My Home screen in order to unlock the vehicle and add it to your garage.

This special event will run for four weeks only.

So it's the GTR SpecV (GT Academy Special) that the Europeans got from the last GT Academy trials.

think we got this in EU a while back because I have this GT Academy car

Yep same old car given away for GT academy else were.
Its a chrome/Stealth hybrid.
Paint work is chrome stripe/ combined with stealth Black carbon type.
Engine and chassis repair will only cost 500 credits each. cheaper than an oil change.

Weight - 1367Kg
BHP ~ 868
Year - 2011

Out done by the new GT-R 35 TC from the DLC pack.

Well, this is nice and looks like the GT-R Academy Special from the EU-competition.

 
It is the one form the EU GT Academy competition. We Americans are finally getting it. :)
 
How different is it to the car you get for 'Golding' the 'Super License' tests? That is described an an 'Academy' GT-R.

It's a one day event. (I think) So... yes.

It will last for 4 weeks. Starting at the time given.

I'm thinking Downforce...Academy GT-R's do not get wings like the 370zs.
 
Fixed aero package as its still a road car, gets that from its chrome line heritage.
BHP and AWD stomps all over the 370z.
B-spec bob used this car for 4 hour endurance races on the ring...

You are wrong. The car in the picture above is the Nissan GT-R SpecV (GT Academy Version) '09 that you won by golding the Super Licence.

The Nissan GT-R SpecV (GT Academy Special) is the car that we europeans got in the GT Academy Trials a long time ago and you will be getting now.
 
well im european and cant get that car....i was so fking pissed when i heard my country cant join in gt academy..so two words in one package to pd fkoff and i think u enjoy when peeps are pissed ....
