Well i've been putting some work into this thread. As you said its a huge project but its somewhat fun and something to do while PSN is down. My goal is to work on this thread at least a few hours everyday. Its a little time consuming because of how slow it is to move around in GT5.

BTW I have nowhere near the total cars! I try to collect all the tuner and race cars but I believe I have very few cars compared to the car collector types. That being said I have been using an android app that has a pretty good list of cars. So far the specs have been nearly identical to what I have. I plan on only listing Race and Tuner cars in this list (and the 'tweeners') so hopefully that cuts back on the sheer amount of cars.

I have been giving the cars an oil change as I believe most racing series allow one so it should reflect actual performance.

As for the inaccuracies, I think gt5 is just a little bit fluky when it comes to its math. I've noticed my specs being different when i'm online as well. Thankfully the differences in power to weigh ratios is very small so if I use a manual ratio or the one in gt5 they should still be quite similar in performance.

Also I appreciate any help with listing cars but please don't go out of your way to do it. I would hate to burden anybody with extra un paid work.

Change Log: 5/6/2011

  • Added multiple new categories.
  • Added new cars into existing categories.
  • Added more specs for cars on top of list.
  • Added new code (X).
  • Added RM vehicles.
  • Highlighted category headers in red.
  • Added the Lamborghini nomad diablo to multiple classes.

Jaguar XJ220 racecar and Lister Storm racecar can go in your GT category.

Falken tyres R34 gtr racecar could possibly be linked with Audi R8 LMS '09 and BMW M3 GTR racecar - all three (I think) have, at some point, competed in the famous Nurburgring 24hr race.

👍

EDIT

There's a few front wheel drive racecars aswell:

Fit racecar (I think it's Spoon - not sure though)
Nissan Micra racecar
VW polo (x2) racecar
VW Beetle racecar

Plus, there's the two old skool Civics - Mogul and Gathers racecars that could all be lumped into FWD racecar class, probably some more too, can't check at moment, Bob's on the rampage...

EDIT x2:

Lexus IS200 GT1 racecar would fit into your touring car class pretty good - same specs as the Altezza

Ha! So is mine. Thanks for the help btw:tup:. I am going to add the Lister and Jag to the GT list right now and as soon as I get more info on the rest of the cars you listed I will place them accordingly.

EDIT: As soon as my BOB finishes grinding/raping gt5 I will buy the remaining RM cars and add them to the appropriate list. I think I am only missing the classic RM cars.

dj if you need any help just ask.
And put the trans-cammer in the race car section or tuner due the race tuned engine and the car been race modified (roll cage etc)

Why is the Calsonic Skyline JGTC in the GT300 list? It's a genuine GT500 car.

Yeah - Trans cammer is in the New Dealership, one of the two 'Gran Turismo' dealers, it's in there by itself.

1970 I think the year is, the black one with the old skool NASCAR engine - very cool...

It's not an out an out racecar like the RM'd Camaro and Challenger, it's a tuner car, but in a niche of it's own.

Not sure where to put it really, your call bud :D

Also, the 2J and the 7 are in the Classic cars Mid-Performance section when they're the fastest of the cars in the entire division.

Yeah I had to asterisk them because I wasn't sure of their specs. As soon as I have more time I will move them to a more appropriate list. Thanks!

EDIT: Looking at the 2J on youtube and it is definitely in the wrong list. I may have to move it to a list that is higher than the High Performance list. Maybe create an extreme race car list.

Yeah, that crazy little 2J and the Toyota 7 are in a league of their own - literally = CAN AM.

Basically, extremely powerful engines on 4 wheels with a spoiler on top and a driver trying to control them, from a few decades ago :D.

Those guys deserved a medal for driving them 👍

Here's a few tuner cars you need to put in :

Purpose built cars (possibly)
ART MORRISON Corvette Roadster (SEMA Award 2006) '60
(Ford) Mustang "Trans-Cammer" (SEMA Award 2009) '70
Jay Leno Tank Car '03
MINES Lancer Evo VI '00 - track car
MINES Skyline BNR34 GT-R V-Spec N1 Base '00 - track
RE Amemiya RX-7 (FD3S) - track
RUF 3400S '00 - Track
RUF BTR '86 - Track
RUF CTR "Yellowbird" '87 - Hospital / morgue
RUF CTR2 '96 - Track
RUF RGT '00 - Track
Nissan Option Stream Z '04 - High speed road racing
Tommy Kaira ZZ-S '00 - Track
Tommy Kaira ZZII '00 - Track
TOM'S X540 Chaser '00 - Track
Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex Shuichi Shigeno Version (AE86) '00 - Drift
BP Falken RX-7 (D1GP) '03 - Drift

Tuner cars (possibly)
Amuse S2000 Street Version '04
Spoon Civic Type R (EK) '00
Spoon S2000 '00

Also, what would be cool, would be to have another category detailing the road going versions of Motorsports cars i.e.

Merc 190E 2.5-16 (Touring car)
Lancia Stratos (Rally car)
Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione '91 (Rally car)
Ford RS200 (Rally car)
Peugeot 205 T16 (Rally car)
Toyota Celica x2 (Rally cars)
Nissan 240RS (Rally car)
Nissan R390GT1 (GT racing)
NISMO R33 gtr Le Mans (GT racing - I think this is real, better check - not sure)
BMW M3 GTR (GT racing)
etc etc
(if you want help with this list let me know - some cars are road going 'specials', other are normal road cars that have been modified for motorsport - it could be along list)

Also ( :D ) it'd be cool if you put the concepts into a group - WHY, because alot of these concept cars are too fast for normal road going cars, so they could easily be singled out into a group of their own. Possibly suggest they would be 'fair game' to be raced against the tuner cars, as the tuner cars are usually better than most (not all) 'normal' road cars.

For example:

VW Nardo
Viper GTS-R
Ford GT '02
R35gtr Tokyo Motorshow Concept
Honda NSX prototype
Honda / Acura HSC
Mitsubishi CZ tarmac
Ferrari SP1 (Prototype / concept - endless arguement, different, yes - but the same, sort of....ish)
Cadillac Cien
etc etc

Finally (probably starting to p*ss you off now) maybe put the factory specials into a group i.e.

Lotus Esprit 350
Lotus Motorsport Elise
NISMO's 270R, 400R, Z 'Z' tune, Z 'S' tune, R32 'S' tune, R34 'R' tune
TRD Celica
etc etc

Somewhere in here the Subaru Spec C's ('04 & '05) would fit in, maybe the 22b also and the TM EVO's would probably be classed somewhere here too - not quite sure where though.....

I'll leave it up to you, but this might help your list stand out from any other's, plus if you can group the cars properly (with the use of disclaimers) it would help to give your thread extra credibility - but again, it's a helluva lot of work..

I'll leave it up to you to decide..

Best of luck amigo :)

👍
