That does look very cool.

I have Unreal Tournament for my PS2 and I think it has excellent gameplay, I thought the graphics could have been a little better, but they look a lot better for this game. :)

Let's bump this one to the top since it's only about 20 days from being released (March 1, 2002)
Got to say, I'm really excited now that I'm seeing some more screenshots... Got to put all this hardware to good use after all. :D
I'm not sure if it's going to have multiplayer capability though, as I've heard rumbling of Unreal Tournament 2, and another Unreal based Multiplayer game. :odd:

I was about to say Pako geez man u had me going there for a sec ;) I hope a P3 1.0ghz will run the game fast enough.

This has some stiff requirements folks, I just looked it up in the Faq, here's an excerpt.

The official FAQ says:

Q. What will be the recommended system requirements to play the game?

A. Unreal II will look stunning on high-end systems, but you should be able to play the game just fine on a P2/450 with a first generation GeForce card.

Legend's Mike Verdu stated in this Q&A on Unreality, published on August 23, 2001:

Q: What are the system requirements looking like at this point?

A: Right now we're developing a game that will be playable on a PIII-500 with any hardware accelerator card that supports T&L (e.g. GeForce I, 2, 3, ATI Radeon, etc.). The game will look fantastic on a high end system, but should be playable on a good mid-range machine. We are still evaluating how to support lower end systems with TNT2 and Voodoo3/4 class cards... Infogrames will make a final determination later this year.

However, Confucius says: "Never believe the official minimum requirements as stated on the box!" ;) If I were you I wouldn't even try running U2 on a P3-500, unless you're satisfied with a framerate of less than 20. This is just my personal opinion, but I expect the minimum system to run U2 at a decent framerate (>30) at a decent resolution (800x600) to be at least a 1GHz CPU with 256 MB RAM and a GeForce2 or equal video card. Anything less will be frustrating.

Sounds like you might need to upgrade.... ;) I hear that the new P4 2.2 ghz is out! :D

Nah the Athlon 2.2 is faster(not hetrz wise but the Athlon is just faster) :)

And so is the P4...... The question is what kind of processing needs to be done, as each chip is faster than the other in different tasks and environments, plus, lets not forget the 800 mhz rambus ram for the Intel P4 mobo chipset. :D

And how much does this P4 cost?

I thought we we're talking about the best performance for Unreal II not the best bang for the buck, but yeah, the Athlon's are by far the best bang for the buck, unless your also doing mission critical processing.

U were talking about that I'm prolly gonna get that Athlon but do u how much that P4 costs?

Better check if your motherboard will take a faster chip before you go out pricing. ;)
Expect to pay about 270 for an Athlon XP 2000+
386.00 for a P4 2 gig
589.00 for a P4 2.2 gig
Right now AMD is a little behind because of the bandwidth that Rambus provides for the P4. Luckily PC2700 ram is on the way... :D

It's all a moot point anyway, because Unreal 2 has dissapeared off of EBgames.com's list of upcoming games, and it no longer is listed as 3/01/02 on Gamespot (now it's Q2 2002)

Anyway, we'll have to subsist off of C&C Renegade :D
