Yes I have. Both volumes of the cbp work just fine. I'd suggest the umod as its the easiest to install with no mess. :D
 
I finally downloaded the CBP's but it seems that no one plays on the new maps. :odd:

What exactly is UMod? I'm afraid to use it.
 
A Umod is like an installer for UT2k4 mods. Don't be afraid. ;)

You double click it and it should install. If it doesn't (which it didn't for me) do this.
nother way to fix this in Windows (XP in this case) is to do the following:

* Open up Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E).

* Selects Tools -> Folder Options from the main menu at the top of the window.

* In the dialog, select the File Types tab (should be the 2nd or 3rd tab).

* In the list of registered file types, look for UT4MOD. If you do not find it, create it by clicking on New. Enter "UT4MOD" as the file extension anc click OK.

* Once it is in the list, select it and click on Advanced.

* You should see an action called "Install this UT2004 module". If you don't, click on New. Enter "&Install this UT2004 module" as the action. If it is there, click on Edit... .

* In either case, there will an option to enter an application to start the UT4MOD with. Click on Browse... .

* In the file dialog, find the Setup.exe in your UT2004\System folder. Select it and click OK.

* Once back on the action dialog, make sure that the filename has quotes around it. Then add the following at the end of the line: install "%1" (include the quotes and a space before the word install).

* The whole line should look something like this: "E:\Program Files\UT2004\System\Setup.exe" install "%1" . Once you enter the last part, click OK twice and Close to return to Windows Explorer.

That should allow you to double click on the UT4MOD and have it run correctly. Make sure you have quotes around both the setup.exe filename and the "%1". Without them, this will fail. I hope this helps.

UMOD is just a different kind of file, cuz some people who create mods or map packs are sometimes ZIP files, its basically just like any other setup program when you install games and such. Just to make things easier for you. :)
 
Then why is it that a lot of people hate it?
 
Hate it? I certainly dont hate it. Makes things easier to install IMO.

Well, not really. In terms of teamwork, it's not very good. Battlefield might be a better choice.

I almost bought this for $49.99, but instead I picked up SOCOM for $19.99.

I just installed the game on my desktop. I gotta say, it looks VERY nice but there aren't too many visual improvements that I can immediately notice over 2k3.
 
Yeah visuals didnt get to much of an upgrade just mainly everything else.

Hate to revive an old thread, but beats making a new one.

Who plays this? I LOVE ONSLAUGHT of course, Alenja Forest is by far the best map someone has made...it's huge...and awesome.

I just got it recently...I fell in love with it...I have the original UT and really liked it, but I love this one...
 
Too much of the crap from 2003 has gone into 2004. Berserk weapons, too much high-speed gameplay, and playing in some douchebag's living room. What kind of fun is that supposed to be?
 
I have a bunch of fun with bots, not to mention I search out the smaller, less chaotic servers :)
 
Yeah but those smaller server then don't have enough action. I play a lot of Battlefield 2 as well so i need a good balance, but it's hard to find that in UT. Hopefully UT2007 will be better.
