I went to the store to buy the momo racing wheel and the guy said they were out of stock and would not restock because they were expecting some new wheel to replace it. Does anyone know of an upcoming steering wheel?

yes. the old one was a momo force. the new one is a momo "racing" wheel. I just got the momo racing wheel. Its not too bad, but the momo force was better. Im waiting to return this and get the momo force.

the momo racing wheel doesnt have a leather wheel, its rubber. the momo racing wheel has less metal parts and is of a lower quality. the momo racing does have a little shifter in addition to the paddles though. the biggest problem of all for the momo racing wheel is that it wont work with gt3. i think it might work with other games, but no gt3.

Here is a comparison review of the 2 wheels. http://www.athlonxp.com/modules.php...wFile&file_wrap=html/reviews_momo_wheels.html
IMO the momo force is better for someone that doesnt mind spending more. especially if you want to play gt3. The momo racing wheel goes for around $80-99, and the momo force is about $140-200. Of course best buy type stores charge the most, and online stores charge the least.

Im going to buy my momo force at www.newegg.com. I have ordered from them like 3 times before and they are THE best place to bu pc hardware, period. everything is about the cheapest you can find it. Shipping is cheap, and when you order something they usually ship it same or next day. Whenever i buy something i get it 3 days after i ordered it. Thats california to minnesota.

The guy at the store was talking about something even newer than the momo racing but what you said is very useful because i thought the momo racing would work with gt3.

I received the Logitech MOMO Force wheel for Christmas, and so far I have been EXTREMELY happy with it. :) I would definitely recommend getting it if you can find it - just look around online and I'm sure you'll come across it.

yea thats what i asked for for christmas. But at the local compusa the guy was an idiot and told my mother the other one was discontinued and this was better. im going to return it and get the momo force.

I highly recommend buying from newegg to anyone inside the usa. Just read the reseller rating for them or read some of the product reviews on their site. Anyone that buys there will become a long time buyer. The buyers are very loyal.

btw, how are the metal gears in the momo force? ive been trying this momo racing wheel out and the whirring of the plastic gears and force feedback is pretty annoying. it doesnt feel very real. i hope the momo force is a bit better, but im not sure as its the more expensive belted wheels that dont feel cheap.

EDIT: oh yea. btw, newegg has around 40 momo forces, so you dont need to worry about availability.

I'd love to tell you how the metal gears are in the MOMO force, but as this is the only wheel I have ever used, I really can't compare it to anything. I think it is great, although my lack of experience discounts my opinion a bit.

okay im looking forward to it. send me a pm whenever you decide to sign on to aim. Id like to talk about the wheel.

I'll probably go with the momo force from the place you suggested since i'm in California, i mainly wanted the momo racing wheel because i wanted to use the stick shift as a handbrake. By the way advanR did you test the wheel with gt3 to make sure because another member says he uses the momo racing wheel with gt3.

yes i did. i also read another users experience with the wheel, he couldnt get it to work either. what is this guys nickname? i will give him a pm and figure out if i ave to do some kind of trick to get it to work.

btw, there are many buttons on both wheels so assigning the handbrake to one wouldnt be a problem. it shouldnt be out of the way much to press during a game. althought pulling a gear shifter stick for that would be pretty cool.

im not sure as ive never used the gt force or formula force, but yes i think the momo racing is better. its actually quite cool. athlonxp.com praises the momo racing wheel, but understands the momo forces advantages over it.

the wheel itself is faux leather made of rubber, thats probably better than the gt force. the shifter is neat. the clamping system works great. the carpet grip under the pedals keeps it from moving great also. I think the pedals might be a bit better. they dont look pretty like the momo force's, but the brake pedal is firm and both pedals feel solid. the mechanicals are probably the same. this uses a plastic gear system. it feels a bit cheap, but i have gotten used to it almost already.

I was under the impression that the gt force and formula force wheels were of a lower quality. i thought i had read about them failing or degrading over time.

But if the momo racing wheel wont work with gt3 then the momo force or gt force seem like the only choices.

i thought i had seen gt force or formula force wheels for as low as $60. the momo force costs about $130. and the momo racing can be found as low as $80 or so.

EDIT: if you have aim, give me a buzz. i can give you some details on the momo racing wheel.
