update 1.05 - Ensure you follow the AUP when posting

The events are an amazingly effective way to extend the life of the game, especially as they can tighten up the restrictions over what A-Spec offers and you can't just fire x amount of credits into a car and bomb around the track, it ensures challenge... maybe A-Spec should have had more of this, but who cares? It's here now.

For as much of a hassle as that is, I'd rather just grind races and earn my cars. Plus, it's just lame. What are you going to do, dupe cars and sell them for cash? You can make more money for your time by actually racing.

Also it's not that easy to dupe cars because of the 1 gift car per day restriction. But you still can clone cars like the X1 and gift it to a friend for example. Well, there are ways around this for PD, like keeping player cars linked to their online account. So if you gift a car and then suddenly you have it again, they would be able to find out.

But yeah, it doesn't really bother me. I don't use cheats to beat a game even in games like GTA, and it doesn't bother me if other people do.

Mileage in online races is killing me(((I've used my stealth cars and it never will be in original condition due to stupid oil(((Need standart oil badly(((

Do you have to re-do the events if you already have gold or silver, etc?

No, they will automatically appear in your Delivery Truck (from what I've heard)

No. You should automatically get the car when you get on GT5.

I dont understand the online collectors dealership. Do anyone know how it works? For me it just seems like another used car dealership. What is online about it?

It's changed daily I guess and it's the same for everyone I believe, the normal offline second hand dealership is dependant on the progress or days played by the individual player whilst this one is independant and controlled by PD.
And it includes rare cars, making it easier to find them sooner instead of checking the regular one frequently.
It's only there to make it easier to find something, although the drawback might be that everyone buys the same cars simultaneously making a rare find less special perhaps, but then again meh.

Automatically once you fire up GT5 when online, you'll only need to confirm it.
A stupid question is asking for something for which you already know the answer, not something you don't know.:)

It will prompt you. I dont think you can even start the game without doing the update (if your PS3 is connected to PSN).
 
Oh wow, you guys weren't just imagining things. The damage really does seem to have been accelerated! The shadows do look a little better!....Now maybe I'm just imagining things, hehe, but the water spray, dirt and smoke don't seem to be as horribly pixelated as before.

Finally, I don't have to get gold just to get both of the 4 hr and 24 hr tracks.

I kind of doubt that. I see so many people (not targeting anyone here) that think the cars in GT5 are actually cars, with limited numbers of them, etc. :lol:

It's still just computer code, no matter how nice they look. The only thing that makes a car "rare" is the random number generator that determines how often that car shows up...not some number of actual physical cars. :D
 
Two changes I've noticed (they may have been mentioned).

1. The tunnel lighting effect has been improved - no longer do we see that light effect move down the tunnel as you drive through it, i.e. Grand Valley

2. Previously, when in practice (or race) and you made changes to your exhaust or intake set-up, the car noise wouldn't change unless you quit out and reloaded it. Now, as soon as you make a change, the car sound updates.
 
Is the new update making anybody else's ps3 freeze? I have restarted my system 3 times now and I can't do anything at all. It freezes about 2 minutes into getting into the game menu.
