Update 1.59 better be good

They should have an update ready by the last Thursday in May, but we can't control what PD does with this game. Sadly I think gt8 will be the same mechanisms as what we've been getting in gt7. The main rule is that they release stuff to us when they want to. It's been like this for every single GT game.

See that's not a good attitude though, I mean what can you do? Go to Polyphony Digital and start threatening to do stuff if Update 1.59 isn't what you wanted. We all have to let go of our egos and just accept what PD brings to us. I've had to accept that since I first bought my first GT game. I mean getting scapes, new events and new cars is better than receiving nothing, zilch...

What isn't?

That seems like a bad idea, from concept to execution. Good luck getting in - to either the building or the country, given the threats.

Or, if any of the younger members that feel slighted by Kaz/PD, could do like Kaz and make their own game with their own vision. Right?
Do you realise how difficult that would be.
You wouldn't just need the code but you would also need the licenses to use the cars so you don't get sued to the ground.

Difficult? Damn skippy it's difficult. Yet, here we are 28 years later and people still complaining. Anyway, Kaz was 28 when Gran Turismo was released. Plenty of time for an 18yo to get cracking. ;)

Besides, there are some cool games like Super Woden II and Art of Rally/Art of Rally 2 that are done really well. If those games were not top down and more like hood view and bumper cam, I bet they'd be even more fun.

If we have to wait 3 months for a lackluster update (1.58 was like a single bugfix), then I have lost all hope for this game.
Where did you get 3 months from? The last content update (1.57) was on 27th March. Even if the next update is at the end of May then that would only be a gap of 2 months.

I don't understand this hunger for more and more content. I mean, it's nice to get new stuff, but if your only hope is to get more and more cars and tracks then something is wrong. If you don't find the game enjoyable with the content it has now then you're very unlikely to find it enjoyable after the next update. Or the next after that. Or the next after that.

Old stuff boring, new stuff good.

The problem's never been the content, it's the ways PD lets you use said content. 90% of the single-player events are dreary rubbish, dailies are good maybe once every 9 months, and lobbies have degraded further and further ever since GT5. It's quite understandable why people still hope for more.

They could add a grid of brand new Gr.3 cars, 2 new tracks, the top 5 most requested cars in the suggestions section AND achieve a permanent ceasefire in Ukraine for good measure, and I'd wager there's many people who would still be bored of it in a matter of weeks.

GT7 doesn't have a problem with the amount of content - it's how the single player mode doesn't make use of it. Gran Turismo 4 still gets a big following between youtubers and twitch streamers (arguably more than GT7) because it makes use of almost all its content with a career mode that still holds up today.

A new track and 10 cars won't solve the game's problems, as nice as it would be.

That's a statement that contradicts itself, because why would you put your hope in more cars and tracks if it's the events and the lobbies that you don't like?
