Hello folks,

Here's the story: I turned on the PS3, loaded GT5 and immediately, it wanted me to download the update, and so I did. I was in the middle of 4h Tsukuba endurance, so I resumed it from the pits. The gear indicator was showing 0 (yes, null) and I knew something is going to go horribly wrong...

After the pit-stop, the car consumed 101 litres of fuel in about 2 seconds! I'm pitting every single lap, just to run out of petrol in the first corner. I'm using a Red Bull, but it shouldn't be THAT thirsty. The same thing is happening to my opponents, but they can only travel at 29 km/h whereas I can do 80 km/h.

I will try to record it, but seriously, what the heck? 2h 30m into the race and I will have to abort it...

Edit: Yeah, 9h Tsukuba.

Yes it is. Lots of people are reporting resuming endurance races after the update and getting ridiculous fuel consumption. I can guess that because they've modified fuel consumption on some cars, there's a coding conflict between the rates you started at and now and it's manifesting in this way.

2h 30m into the race and I will have to abort it...

Not unless you let the AI have several laps advantage first - just let the 90 minutes ride out. If you let them take the lead, work out how many more laps you can do in 90 minutes at 80km/h and if it's more than they can do at 30km/h and the deficit put together, keep going.

Okay, here's the video:

It would continue to happen even when I save the race and load again. Race aborted.

At 80km/h you can do 254 laps of Tsukuba in the time remaining to you. At 30km/h they can do 110 laps - giving you a 144 lap advantage. And they'll pit in every lap and take 100% fuel, whereas you can just cruise at 80. That'd take them at least 45s each stop, giving you another 30 laps advantage for 174 laps.

In the first 2.5 hours at normal speeds they'd have only got to lap 135. At the above rate, they'll finish the 9 hours at lap 215 - a distance you'd already achieved. With this bug (I'd guess it only affects endurances started under v2.08 and then updated mid-race) you could park up for 6.5 hours, finish your lap and win.

So you've quit a race you'd already won.

The video shows they apparently can also do 80 km/h. Don't mind it though, 2.5 hours is not that huge loss.

Twitter update from Kaz

We've updated GT5. However we found that resuming an endurance race saved before the update will cause problems.

If you have a saved race, please cancel out of the update, start the game and complete your race before updating again.

Endurance save issue

Just saw a tweet from Kaz. I have one profile with a saved Nurb 24hr race. Wonder if ill have to delete it quit race or will they fix it. I've already updated :(.

I just updated to 2.09 and came across something rather peculiar.

I'm into the final 4 hrs of the Nurburgring 24hr race and booted up my save to continue where I left off. As my Bentley Speed 8 pulls into the pits, its fuel starts depleting rapidly. After the pit stop, fuel depletes as I accelerate and the tank is empty in 2 seconds.

I tried driving in the opposite direction to re-enter the pits and even after refuelling for a 2nd time, the fuel depletes in an instant upon acceleration.

Anyone else experiencing such an issue? Pretty bummed that I won't be able to complete this final race and the game.

I have the same issue. Got 26 laps left of Suzuka 1000 and limited to 80kph. Gonna be a long 26 laps. It appears that it affects all of the cars in the rcae as the CPU cars pit every lap. Hopefully a quick bug fix.....

Okay, so I'm not the only one with this problem. I was racing on the 24 hrs. of Le Mans. While I loaded the game from where I left off, my fuel is empty, even as I re-fuel and exit from the pit lane. My car and its opponents are restricted to 49 MPH.

You could delete your install data and then reinstall but only back upto version 2.08 it will take a while to down load each patch except the newest one and you will lose all your replays and photos but not cars credits or game progress.

Thanks Tornado and Stig

Can you just quit the race and the file will be ok? I dont mind starting the race over. Im only 6 hrs in and its my secondary profile. Its almost a complete profile.

Hi

I have read that Im not the only one having the issue with the new update and its bugs but I want to know has any one come up with a fix ???

I restarted my endurance race after updating to find my fuel keeps getting zapped in 3 seconds from full tank to nothing leaving me crawling at 16mph . I do a lap re enter the pits but this makes no difference.

So I though of deleting the update, finish the race but ... my GT5 game data is 9Gb and it will just do the latest update again . Do I have no choice but to save the game data onto USB then quit endurance race untill a maybe fix is released or isit bad luck to me that updates are corrupt

👎👎👎

Well its abit late for that as I have already installed update . Im not reinstalling the game data again losing my photos which I cant re upload from external HDD . My game data is ****ing 9gb this is horse **** and because I have to quit my endurance race due to a technical **** up im pissed .

What they need to do is sort out another update asap to resolve this issue

You can't save/copy game data so that won't do anything for you.

You shouldn't have updated mid race, you should have connected without a connection, finish, then re-connect to update. It's risky to update while in a race!

I was 19h into my 24h nurb race. I was using a XJ13. I had ran a perfect race, with only THREE offs until that point. I had a 3min lead and felt like I could win. I had to quit as was quite angered by the whole ordeal.

Well, in hind sight, don't update until an endurance is over.

My Endurance Race Issue - The Little Red Man

I was minutes away from finishing the 9hr Tskuba thing...stopped on the last turn for a picture (not the actual last lap)...my steering wheel was turned somewhat...when I went to un-pause...and I guess I turned the wheel a little and the cursor slid to the right and went over The Little Red Man (I didn't notice). I pushed the 'X' button and puff...the race was over.

It'd be nice if the game would ask you, "Are you sure you want to exit?".

Never experienced that in aspec. Happened to me in bspec though on the 24h Nurburgring race
