Update Fail/ I miss my GT6/HELP!!

I have read several forums on other sites about the update fail and tried everything but purchase a new system. Seems to be a problem with update 0.09. All other games play on my system without flaws so I know it's not the system. I have completely wiped out the memory and tried again. Still no good. It has been months since I have been able to play. I figured a new update would come out to fix this but thus far it hasn't worked. I miss my GT6 and now GT5 is no longer online. What do I do? I don't care that I have to strart from scratch, I just want it to work. I have spent the last week trying everything I could think of to no avail. HEEEELLLLPPP Please!
 
I've seen this post before but I have not done the steps with the XMB yet. I will follow up when I've attempted it. Thanks for the speedy response.
 
My friend had a similar problem and swaping the GT6 bluray disc fixed the issue (buying a new GT6 copy). Upon inspection we found a "ring" like burn mark or scratch on the disc :/

Did you inspect your disc?
 
I've followed the instructons to a "T" and still no luck. Even went a far as to deleate ALL game data and reformat. The DL seems to take all 10 updates fine. Though the tenth update is only 2% of the final upload which goes pretty quick. Once all that is done the game comes up and tries to install. This i where the process is failing. Tried it three times over the weekend. Game is clean, system is clean...What do I do now??
 
Did you install updates separately?

I mean in "stages":
1. download update
2.install update
3.cancel next update
4.unplug network cable or sign out of PSN
5.run the game with fresh installed update to see if it works ok
6. if it runs ok, install the next one and repeat
 
Update: Man dies of old age trying to get game updated! From 5-12:30 was going through each update one by one. I think I ironed everything in the house while monitoring. 1.07 was the one that got me. Loaded to system but would not load t game. What do you do then? I pressed on to 1.08 and that froze. Left it on overnight just in case, got up this morning to find it at 15%. Do I go back and start from scratch? How do I avoid getting stuck?
 
Pretty sure it's not the disk but to answer your question...no :( Everyone comes to my place to play it, I have a pretty sweet rig set up.
 
Not alot of options lefti can think of. Bad hard disk, bad bluray player or damaged disc.

If it stops at the same point every time im 90% sure it is the GT6 disc. My friend had a similar problem i was trying to fix. Disc looked clean but did not work. He bought another copy and all was fine :/
