Updated 1.13 and logged back in with PSN Account Banned (WS-37368-7)

Played GTS last night all good, downloaded update tonight and when logging back into the PSN my account has been nerfed to dust by Sony..... WTF..... this account has been with me since PS3 first came out, don’t even have an email explaining what I’m supposed to have done.
 
Literally I have no idea, I don’t message people and turned off the ability for anyone to message so that’s a non starter..... without an email explaining it I have no ide
 
What was/is your psn name? A friend of mine had some salty people report his psn name and they banned him for it. He got back his account back but don't had to changed the psn name. His psn name was crackheadkarl at the time. Your going to have to phone then up.

The link has the more common reasons for getting a ban.Your account has a perm ban but not the console.You can create a new account.
With that said,from that list,these reasons could feat better related to GTS:
-Offensive Images or Audio
-Exploiting a Game Glitch
-Verbal/Text Abuse
-Hate Speech
-Abuse of Grief Reporting Function
-Spamming
-Grooming
-Cheat Codes
-Uploading Pornographic or Obscene Image
-Cheating


For example it could be a "livery" in the game or using a glitch/bug.

Guess at the end of the day it’s gone anyway right, just have to start new. Not impressed though, means Sony also sting me for another PSN network fee too.

I am only trying to help you understand the reason since there must be a reason (unless the ban should not have happend in the first place).
Its written in the link that these are some of the most common reasons for getting a ban.Since you got a perm account ban but not a console one,there must be a kinde serious reason behind it.
I would think a "livery" or "Exploiting a Game Glitch" (tire bug/pit bug) or maybe a msg into chat after a race.Something like these.

Are you talking about an account ban for GT Sport, or from PSN entirely?
 
Couldn't you message Sony instead? And ask why? This is what I have done and they explained to me the reasons for the ban.

I'm reading about it now and you should get a email, if not maybe your ban is a mistake, i would contact Sony if i was you, since you don't know if you are banned or suspended.

Not exactly my fault but my cousin decided to use my PSN (Black-_-Hole1885) on a modded PS3. After couple of weeks, i got banned for that and they explained to me why. I find it odd how they are like "i'm sorry for what happened" and other totally legit "sympathy replies" yet they refused to even allow me to remove my main email from that banned account so i could use it on another accounts.

UGH SHOULDN'T LET MY COUSINS DO THAT.

Right now, i'm playing on an older account, Carlj1231.
 
This is just an off shoot but by any chance did you buy anything on the PSN recently (~1 week ago). I remember a while back some people's PSN got banned because of a negative balance on their account due to a transaction bouncing.
 
it might be unrelated, but yesterday my PSN got hacked.
Luckily I was online when it happened, I all of a sudden got the message I was logged in on another PS4.

They had set their PS4 as primary which you can only change once every 6 month so I couldn't change it back.
I had to call Playstation to deactivate theirs an set mine as primary again. And of course change the password and set up the 2 step varivication.

They could see that it was logged in in Russia, not that this has any significance.

Anyway, maybe this has happened to your account and they did some stuff to get you banned.

That is really scary. I'm going to set up two step verification on my ps4 when I get home
 
Thanks all. I’ve set up a new profile and PSN still works - just have to start from the beginning and look on the bright side - collect wins on my way through back to B/S ..... although starting with $50k credits is rough

If I get anything from Sony I’ll update

Something could be related as I changed my credit card about 3 months back but my PSN shouldn’t expire for another 2 months

update to the saga, tried to call Sony AU during their opening hours "Playstation Support is currently closed" ..... these guys are awesome.
 
Strangely since 2 days I could not enter Gran-Turismo.com and log in. My password was not correct. Somebody changed the password ? Surely not. I checked my mail account (was an older account so not on my mobile) and indeed saw some password notification mails. Very strange since I cannot notice anything else has been changed. Also I could easily change my password again. Now it works fine.

But when reading this I am starting to get a little scared about a hack. Just dont know what kind of one, since I cannot see anything changed, but @Gejabo who mentioned this also seems Dutch.

Any tips what I can do or check ?
 
Got my PS3 account hacked last year & some scum bag wiped out my bank account right down to the last penny. Just caught it as I logged on a few hours later & got told I wasn't me and to bugger right off.

For a few minutes I was sure it was a mistake then went to my online banking and sure enough I was cleaned out. You can imagine the profanity & angry words that issued from my mouth.

Turns out some **** used a program to force passwords-can't remember the exact term. Took them long enough to find out & while I'm on the phone to paypal & my bank my PSN account was suspended. Felt like I was to blame & next to no explanation was given.

About a month later some half arsed explanation was given asking me if I wanted to remove all my bank details from Sony...Do you have to ask? AYE!

If not for my friends I would have went hungry. If yer sure you aint at fault phone them up and kick up hell, but be prepared for a long wait. Got my money back & my PSN account restored but what a ****in' nightmare.

There we go.

Credit card purchases are one of the main reasons why PSN accounts get banned these days. Why, you ask? Because some banks tend to flag these transactions as suspicious, and therefore invalidate them. And because the bank tries to get the money back, Sony sees this as suspicious activity on your account, and in turn bans it.

So an email saying when the next auto payment is due saying hey your account bounced wouldn’t be a better way to deal with this like every other vendor?

Thanks for the insight though.

I looked up your code and it does seem mostly to do with either failed payment, negative balance or chargebacks being requested on a card used to make purchases. Apparently buying PS vouchers and adding them to your account will unlock it

So yeah... your card expiring before a payment is due to come out would explain this. The update is just a coincidence as your card expired on the last day of the month, when the update was released.

PayPal is the only one that warns you if the transaction failed. Card compaies also (from my experence) have a known habit of not warning you of anything until your next statement
