Well it's because I drift in GT5, and you don't know where the paddles are.

I know you can disable the clutch but it takes out the fun.

Yeah, You keep thinking that. Obviously you don't know much about cars, as where I know alot about them.

+1000 how do you think drag racers run down the track with a stick shift??? deff not granny shifting

power on slam clutch in and out in a QUICK motion while changing gears= POWER SHIFTING. would love if they could get that right in gt5. some day I really hope

No issues for me with my G27. I am happy about it just waiting for the upcoming update to map reverse and handbrake in better positions

until then.....you know the row of four red buttons across the shifter well the farthest right one is the top right wheel button and the furthest left is the top left wheel button. So in the mapping put what you want for the top wheel buttons on those right and left red buttons and what you want on those right and left red buttons up on the top wheel buttons...............

they're just flopped

Im using G27 and having this problem on online races.Yesterday I bought the DLC packet and went to Spa with my RX-7 TC(full power,RHard).Couple laps it felt beautiful and then came 2 disconnections and that 'checking online invironment'.After those that beautiful feeling was gone, like arcade settings had taken place? This is something that happens to me often,my wheel is detuned and I cant think of why?Are there anyone that suffers that same problem?Anoying, when knowing that theres a better handling model for that wheel.-Is this PDs work(I have made online some unpleasent comments about GT5 and PD/too arcade),but could they be that 'small'?Or is there a 'online observers team' who's job is to keep online racing close?I think theres all 3(or more) Prologues handling models in same races now.-Give me a PRO room, wheels only

did you tune the car in the room and then get disconnected?? if so you'll lose that tune and it'll be back at whatever it was before you tuned it. you have to exit a room clean as in not get booted or disconnected and then hit the red save button to keep the tune.

if not I don't know. I was taught before it was supported that you have your PS3 off wheel plugged in and power plugged in and then start playstation..supposed to calibrate better..has always felt WAY better that way to me. it was night and day different before update haven't tried it different since

probably wouldn't be a bad idea for us to use a regulated surge suppressor power supply for the wheels for extra life

Kaz said the button problem is getting fixxed in the next update, I presume the one announced yesterday. So I'll just wait to fix my buttons for good :)

Has the problem been fixed in the update? The G27 looks really good so was considering buying, but will be bead if it has not compatible with gt5

the dead zone im talking about is when the steering wheel feels like it has a couple degrees of play before the ffb motors feel the wheel turn, if that makes sense...

.
Both of my Fanatec wheels and G27 has some play in the center in order to keep from fighting the wheel down the straight. In some cars the ffb is too tight in the center.
A real steering wheel which has forces pulling from both sides of the wheel while a ffb wheel only add force to one side at a time. For ffb wheel to simulate "center" the ffb motors are "off" thus a dead zone. IRL a car or bike traveling down a road has forces on both side helping to hold the wheel center (as well help hold a bike up)

I also noticed that now when you release the clutch pedal on the g27,it slips. Instead of being on and off it now slips if you release it slowly.Thats good especially when you want to launch a car without smoking the rear tires.

did that before....but the location was a lil different though

Noticed this one too.

I also noticed that the problem about the clutch landing to neutral when shifting from first to second, is still there and seems to be car dependent. For example, I rarely land on neutral no matter how fast I shift from 1st to 2nd in the FT-86. But in the Lotus Evora, when I bang the rev limiter in 1st gear, I always land on neutral when shifting to 2nd, even if I shift slowly 👎

I THINK that it depends on the car gearing from first to second gear. I don't know why it only does that from first to second. If the limiter is 7000 rpm in first gear and when you shift the second gear the rpm falls at 4000rpm, the car will go neutral if you shift too fast. But if it only drops to 6000rpm, i THINK you have greater chances to succeed your shift in 2nd gear.

Has anyone with a G27 updated to 2.01? Saw this in the release notes:

Corrected an issue where if a certain operation was performed when using a steering wheel controller with an H pattern gear shifter, the shift lever position, gear position display and the car operation would become mismatched. (On the Logitec G25 Racing Wheel, Logitech G27 Racing Wheel, and Guillemot T500RS + TH8RS Shifter.)

I wonder if this is about the clutch issue (transmission landing to neutral when shifting from first to second). Downloading the patch right now. 16 minutes left!

Okay, I can confirm that 2.01 DOES NOT fix the problem stated above. At least on the two cars I tried (stock S2000 and Evora)

I have 2 things to say with regard to clutch operation in G27.

1) I usually do heel&toe in real world but it seems hard to do in GT5. Especailly when I drive Lotus Elise in GT5, it is much severe. I also fail although I do heel&toe with double clutching. Is it because G27 clutch isn't fully supported? Is it same in othere wheels? Or any good idea to do heel&toe?

2) In GT5, I expect steering wheel's proper vibration during clutch engagement. So that the driver is easily able to feel the clutch engagement. Currently I have no feeling when clutch is engaged and still have no idea of quick start method with manual gear using clutch.

What about your opinion?

figured out what this is about. BEFORE THE UPDATE if you say took off in a rolling start race and the shifter was in lets say 3rd gear and it was a paddle shift car and you start using the paddle shifters for shifting if you engaged the clutch while in paddle mode it would throw the car in neutral until you held in the clutch pulled the shifter into neutral and back into a gear.... AFTER THE UPDATE you could have the shifter sitting in 3rd gear and have been using the paddle shifters say up to 5th gear if you hit the clutch and let it out you are now in the gear the shifter is sitting in instead of neutral.

and the force feed back of the wheel feels better to me after this update. not sure if anybody else noticed this but it's stronger feeling. in wheel settings I run on simulation, power steering off and force feed back at 9

I just hope they can get some power shifting into play at some point. I want to hold throttle slip clutch and bang a gear at some point "power shifting" . would really make racing faster and more realistic using the shifter and clutch as well as drifting would be more fun. I still us the clutch and shifter all the time drifting but you just gotta time your shifting and clutch work just right and I use it racing.

what annoys me and I've tested this before with replays and chasing ghosts and watching entry and exit speeds is that I am way faster coming into corners and through the middle because using clutch and shifter with heel and toe downshifting sets the chassis up real nice for the corner..but through the accelerations areas because of the slight granny shift it takes I'm a little slower.
