Updating GT5 has become impossible for me

Hello guys

I have been playing GT5 for over a year now, and a couple of months back, I updated to 2.03. When I decided to update it to the newest version, 2 days ago, it kept on giving me an error (8002AE22 or something like that). So, I googled similar cases and many said it was due to the proxy preventing me from downloading it.

After that, I downloaded PS3Prox, downloaded ALL GT5 updates by getting the links from an online xml document pointed out by one of my friends. I set all the correct paths in PS3Prox and all the correct links. Update 1.05 completed flawlessly, however, update 1.06 successfully downloaded from my pc and installed right to the end, and then came up with the same *beep*ing error as before. I have deleted all my game data, backed up and removed my save data, updated the firmware of my PS3 and tried again and again for hours, but to no success.

This is driving me up the wall, I am desperate for help and would most generously appreciate it if any you would offer some assistance.

You just need patience :)
It took me 80 Mins to Update GT5 , It's actually 40 Mins but the first one failed at like 80 % Of Download *OH NO!*

Have you tried without a proxy connection?

Yes I have, and I got the same error.

Please guys, for the love of everything that is holy, will somebody please give me a step by step guide on how to do this from scratch, even it takes a whole day to complete, I just want to have my game back to normal and updated so that I can play online.

Have you tried resetting your modem/router?
Try that an make sure all your settings are correct.
Then try the ps3 again (make sure the ps3 can establish a connection).
Then try gt5 .....again.

Strange that this is happening to you, but good luck an hopefully you can figure out the problem.

I will try that today, I am starting from scratch again. The things I need to know are:

1) Do I have to install updates one at a time, or can I let them just install consecutively?
2) Must I do the 8GB install before or after updating?

If I remember correctly, 8 GB is installed first and then the updates one at a time. :(

Thank you, I will try this out soon and report back. I'm getting sick of deleting game data and re-installing only to fail again, maybe this will solve my problem.

UPDATE: I tried doing it that way, and I'm getting the other error, is there any way that I can contact GT5 support? Because I have quite literally tried every method of resolving this, but nothing has worked.

UPDATE: Just to clear this up, I solved my case by giving up and buying GT5: Academy Edition. Seriously, I had tried nearly everything out there (changing DNS, PS3Prox, port forwarding, DMZ's, wired and wireless, 8GB before updating and vice versa, formatting the entire PS3 through safe mode, the list goes on and on). The only thing I had not tried was switching to another ISP, as that was not an option for me. Advice to you guys out there that have; there is probably a way to solve the minefield of errors during updating. PS3Prox and switching to another ISP is probably your best bet.

You can get PS3Prox by just googling it, and the updates for GT5 can be found on http://yifan.lu/psn/?titleid=BCES00569&env=np. This is for the European version of the game. Other options would be changing your DNS to that of OpenDNS (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220), putting your PS3 in a DMZ or opening the various ports for PSN on your router manually (http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network-Technical/Port-Numbers-which-do-I-need-to-open-for-the-PlayStation-and-how/td-p/13390392)

Goodluck, I hope the above post will help others with the same problem that I have faced.
