updating the Players Met list

Has anyone else noticed that the players that get added to your players met list seems random? I've noticed lately that after a race, if I pop out to send a quick message, about half the time, who I want to send the message to isn't there. The first couple times, I figured I had to back out of the race, to the "lobby" screen but that doesn't make any difference. I'm not complaining or anything because it's better than what we had before, I was just curious if I was missing something.
 
no your not Suede53,whas wondering about this aswell...after some time i tried out some online races today and the result whas...well,you know,60% good racers and 40% punters and(or the same)little boys not knowing what the xxxx they where doing out there,there whas one in partucullar from france who ruined it for everybody and wanted to ask him via message in french what he whas thinking,but as you said his name whasn't there....

so,there must be a reason for this but it beats me why...

I've noticed this as well. Practically none of the good racers I've recognised get added to players met but lots that I don't remember seeing at all do get added.
 
You can just write their id down and then go and send them a friends invite:idea: or (tell them how you feel about their driving:yuck:). After you get 50 players met they start dropping the oldest ones on your list.
 
i know opelgt1969...but thats not the point i think,sometimes a guy does something you want to write him about and i am not 100% sure how to spel his name....i am racing you know..:)
so if i don't want to make a mistake and write to the wrong person,or to an non existing one,they gave us the feature to look them up in the players met list.

so the point is that not all players met are in the list after the race you did there and than...
so,the question is....why not????:sly:

I know, it is definitely a bug - it only adds people to the Players Met if they don't actually hit you in the race - they meant to make it people who bump into you (physcially met) but the coder put not equals instead of equals (or vice versa). ;)
 
It just seems to be a numbers thing. No matter how many people in the race, it will always add just one or two to the Players Met from each race. Who those one or two are is totally random.
 
I checked the list out the other day, None were showing from GT5-P
The only people on my list were from Grand Theft Auto.... which I havent played in 6 weeks and only played online with a couple of mates. (was it available then, cause I never noticed it!:indiff:)

nope,it became available since the 1-08-2008 update..

So do people you race against automatically get added or do you manually add them (when working properly)?
 
I've been paying more attention to my list after every race and last night after a dozen races or so, only one name would be added per race. Once, it added two. I'm not at the max (whatever it is, 50?), as nobody has fallen off the list either. It wouldn't bother me as much but last night was a prime example. I was in an awesome race with someone named easy______ and then a bunch of random numbers. I would've liked to send him a message but by the time I grabbed a pen, the post race leaderboard was gone.

Skynyrd -- Yes, in theory, it's supposed to automatically update your list with the people you've raced with.
 
I could be wrong, but I have a feeling people when setting up their accounts on PSN can select whether or not to allow other players to see them on the players met list, this may account for some people not showing up. < complete shot in the dark
 
Yeah i found this also, wanted to add a GTP member i had about 5races with and while he was on the list only 5 names come up and was in a full lobby of 12ppl weird.
 
hmm, would the people listed in the "Players Met" list be the hosts for the races you've entered?? 💡
 
I've noticed this too. For example. I was racing at hsr last night against gtp_burnout. I wanted to add him to my friends list, but he wasn't on the players met list.
 
How's this for a great ideal? After the race is over you could "pause" at the win list then you could write down any player. I'm at the 50 players meet mark and have noticed that if you send a friend's request and that Friend accepts your request they are still in your players met list and no way of moving them out. Not sure if when they move to bottom of list they will disappear or not.
 
I was having some good races with some good clean drivers last night, around 2am Western GMT, and there wasn't many people around, about 4 or 5 per race. Sometimes I was hosting, and sometimes the other guys were hosting. There was rarely any contact between us, most of the time no contact at all. When I checked my players met list, none of the guys I was racing with were on the list. The last entry was three days ago, very strange. It's like my list is full up and wont update anymore.
I think that when the up-coming firmware update is installed, it may rectify the problem.

not really,its 50-50 of howmany players will or will not be added to your list after one race....

It's a bit weird that we only get a few of them. seems like you have to race them over several races and then be lucky to get them in your players med list. it would be best if the list really worked, but to have the time to write down the name would also help. i agree. I think they dissappear after they go to the bottom.
