Upgraded cars in 2 player split screen

Is it possible to use my upgraded cars in two player split screen I Can use them in arcade mode but when I go to two player it resets the specs back to stock

as far as i believe, allthough the stats of the car revert back to standard, the car does actually drive to your gt life settings (tuning etc)
I was racing split screen last night and could not notice any difference in the performance in arcade over gt life even though the BHP levels were hugely different

I used my lambo from favorites and my friend used the arcade one and mine worked the arcade one
